Photo Update, June 2017: We now have a categorized collection of these images in a post on our new site: “A Year of Picture Prompts: Over 160 Images to Inspire Writing.” Every year we introduce a new feature or two in response to feedback from our audience, and for the 2016-17 school year we’re happy to bring you what we’re calling Picture Prompts. As you can see if you scroll through what we have so far, they are short, accessible, image-driven prompts that include both photographs and illustrations, and invite a variety of kinds of writing and discussion.
