Travel to Teach volunteers work with several schools located around Mae Hong Son. We teach in the schools where the children from the orphanage go in order for them to be accepted even though they are not Thai citizens. Teaching is in the mornings Monday-Friday, and volunteers will mostly be working at Primary Schools and in the local High school. Additionally, volunteers can sometimes work at the orphanage in the afternoons, which provides vital support and education to children, the most vulnerable victims of the social fall-out in neighbouring Burma. At the moment, the orphanage is temporarily closed. Our hope is that it will be reopened within a few months.

The orphanage was founded in December of 2002 by five representatives from the Shan community who were involved in development and social work. In the afternoons volunteers have the opportunity to work at the orphanage, playing with the kids and helping them with their studies. What you receive Apart from our fees, you must pay for: MSRP. Home. Research. Some challenges are no match for Monsanto products or for Monsanto professionals. That’s because every year, we invest more than one billion dollars on agricultural research and give you the chance to take novel approaches to timeless agricultural problems. By incorporating cutting edge technology and your experience, you’ll give farmers around the world the ability to grow more crops with less resources. This is where your ideas could push the limits of agricultural technology and maybe even change the world. Are you ready for a challenge? The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) - in cooperation with science organizations in North America and Germany - is pleased to invite undergraduate students from the US, Canada and the UK in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering to apply for a summer research internship in Germany.

RISE summer placements take place with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany. The RISE interns are matched with a doctoral student whom they assist and who will also serve as their mentor. This program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany. 1. - January 31st 2016, midnight CET The Summer Research Program in Life Sciences and Technology at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), will offer an intensive research training opportunity to 25 undergraduate students interested in research careers in life sciences. Each student will gain hands-on lab experience under the supervision of an EPFL Faculty from one of our institutes. Brain Mind Instutute (BMI) Institute of Bioengineering (IBI) Global Health Institute (GHI) Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research (ISREC) The SRP is made up of several parts and the student must participate in each one.

Summer Scholars Programs - Graduate Education. The Summer Scholars program is for undergraduate students interested in the PhD degree in the Biological or Biomedical Sciences and for students with a potential interest in attending graduate school at the University of Rochester. The School of Medicine and Dentistry offers a welcoming and inclusive environment that reflects and values the diversity of our faculty and students. We strongly encourage students from groups under-represented in the sciences to apply to our program. These groups include students with disabilities, students from racial/ethnic minority groups, first-generation college students and individuals from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Intellectual Merit of the program derives from the major strengths in the University of Rochester's cross campus programs in the Biological Sciences, combining programs from the undergraduate campus Department of Biology and Basic Science Departments of the University of Rochester Medical Center. Internship Main Page. SERC - Professional Training: Internship Program in Environmental Studies. The Smithsonian ranked as one of the 10 best places to intern in 2011. Our interns go out in the field with leading scientists, perform their own research and sometimes make shocking discoveries. Read a few of their stories and find out how you can join us. More intern stories >>Program DescriptionThe Smithsonian Environmental Research Center's (SERC) Internship Program offers undergraduate and beginning graduate students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fields of environmental research and education.

This program enables students to work on specific projects under the direction of SERC's professional staff and is tailored to provide the maximum educational benefit to each participant. Since 2001 the SERC internship program has been designated a REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) site by the National Science Foundation. The specific dates and duration of the internship appointment are arranged between the supervisor and the student. Welcome to ScienceNET. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Forensics Laboratory. Internship Jobs - Forensic Jobs. Clockworks Lab. Why do birds sing in the morning, while frogs call at night? Why are heart attacks likely to strike before dawn, while asthmatic attacks generally occur after sunset? Why do we most often feel lethargic and depressed during the short, dark days of winter, while on long, sunny summer days, we feel energetic and alert? The answer to each of these questions lies in understanding the central role of the brain's clock in organizing our body functions around the major variable in the external world, the daily cycle of darkness and light.

This circadian clock, located in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) of the brain, whose cellular processes mark the passage of time in near 24-hr cycles, is a fundamental life component. In addition, we are engaged in interdisciplinary research with Jonathan Sweedler to build upon campus excellence in molecular and cellular biology, nano-scale analytical chemistry and bioengineering.
