Do you remember when Cold Stone first came out with cake batter flavored ice cream? Did you know my husband is the one that came up with the idea? When we walked into waffle cone smelling Cold Stone and saw that they had cake battered flavored ice cream he said, “They stole my idea!”

We all want to be a little healthier. Let's be honest, you can't live on Slutty Brownies (and the world is a sadder place for it). However, the idea of snuggling down infront of a movie with a big bowl of celery sticks is deeply depressing. http://www.thelondoner.me/2011/09/dairy-free-chocolate-ice-cream.html

Many years ago I worked in a restaurant in New York with a group of other cooks, who were mostly women and we were all friends. We’d gather in the cold morning kitchen, working around a communal wooden counter near the warm stove armed with cups of strong coffee as we set about our various tasks while engaging in conversations while doing all the repetitive work of chopping the piles of vegetables we used for soups, salads, and other things that we were going to prepare the rest of the day. One woman, who I’ll call Mary Smith (and who, for some reason, we all called her by her complete name, “Mary Smith”, rather than just “Mary”), was bookish and almost librarian in her demeanor, and she was attending a local Ivy league institution, getting her doctorate in Russian and Russian studies. She worked very efficiently with no unnecessary movements, and always had perfect posture, like a ballerina, along with pristine skin and straight brown hair pulled sharply back in a tight ponytail. http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2011/02/homemade-nutella-recipe-chocolate-hazelnut-spread/

These are my two favorite popsicle recipes and have never been able to pick which one I liked better, the strawberry coconut or the honeydew lime, so I decided to share them both with you! Need a reason to make these popsicles?

Homemade Pop-Tarts

http://crepesofwrath.net/2010/04/05/homemade-pop-tarts/ When I was a kid, I loved Pop-Tarts. My mom rarely bought them for us because of how unhealthy they are, but when I saw those babies in the pantry, I was pretty excited! My favorite was always strawberry, which is why I decided to make that version of these myself. I’m no health nut, but that might be because I don’t buy a lot of pre-packaged foods.

Salted Chocolate “Twix” Bars

We’re watching our friend’s cat right now, and it’s a lot of fun. Kramer and I want to get a pet so badly, but I just don’t think that I have the time, energy, or, frankly, money, to take care of an animal the way I would like to. For now, though, it’s just fun to pretend to have a pet for a week. His name is Eddie and he’s pretty funny .
