Couture - Page 2 - Woch made in Gwada. DIY Kindle Cover. When I first bought my Kindle, I followed a tutorial I found online to make my own cover. Recently both Dave and my younger sister entered the world of e-readers with their own Kindles, so I went back to the same tutorial to make them their own Kindle covers. Unfortunately the blog owner had decided to take the tutorial down for various reasons but she was happy to share a PDF of the instructions with me.
To be honest, the instructions are a bit confusing. Well, sort of. Really I think they just needed more pictures to make the project clearer to sewing novices like myself. So I thought I would include a revised/clarified version of her instructions here complete with an excessive amount of pictures. First, a few disclosures. That being said, the reason I stuck with this tutorial rather than the many, many others you can find online (like this one that I almost went with) is because this is the only one I found with a flap closure and a pocket, both of which I find particularly helpful. DIY Wool Felt iPhone Sleeves. Guest post by Marisa of Omiyage It seems like everybody and their brother (sister, uncle, grandmother & niece) has a smartphone these days. 4 out of 5 of the adults in our not-terribly-tech-savvy family has an iPhone. So why not play into the cellphone obsession and gift handmade iPhone sleeves this holiday season? Simple to make, no fancy or expensive materials needed.
So simple, in fact, you could whip up a whole stack in one afternoon. What makes these sleeves extra-special is the clever pocket created between the 2 pieces of felt. I'll give you the dimensions to create sleeves which can fit iPhone 4, 4S or 5 models. You will need:Wool felt ( The colours I used are Black, Graphite, Smoke, Magenta and Swan) Scissors Pins Sewing machine w thread 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Variation One - Two Pockets Perhaps you fancy a second pocket, or, like me, want to add a bit more colour to your sleeve. For this variation, you will need 3 pieces of wool felt. 1.
