Shabby chic all'uncinetto. Negli ultimi tempi si sente sempre più spesso parlare di "Shabby chic", ma precisamente, cos'è? Lo shabby chic non è altro che uno stile d'arredamento. La parola "shabby" significa letteralmente "invecchiato", "logoro". In questo stile di interior design, infatti, mobili, accessori e arredi si presentano invecchiati, "usurati". Lo shabby chic nacque nella vecchia Gran Bretagna ed era lo stile tipico delle grandi case di campagna. Ha molto in comune con gli arredi d'epoca, specie quelli in stile vittoriano. Tuttavia è influenzato da tanti diversi stili di arredamento: da quello svedese a quello francese risalente ai castelli della Loira, passando persino dallo stile shakers americano.
L'espressione "shabby chic" fu utilizzata per la prima volta nel 1980, coniata dalla rivista "The World of Interiors". Vi starete chiedendo: "Ma che c'entra tutto questo con l'uncinetto? ".
