IS UNIT WEB SITE - IPTS - JRC - EC. Objectives JRC-IPTS and DG CONNECT conducted the MIREIA project, which aimed to better understand the role of eInclusion intermediary actors and to create adequate instruments to show how they contribute to the achievement of European eInclusion policy goals. In concrete, the objectives of the study were to: Characterise and map eInclusion intermediary actors in Europe in order to know better what eInclusion intermediary actors are, which services they provide, to which targets groups, how they operate and innovate and how they can be classified.

Build and test an impact assessment framework that will allow to systematically collect end-users micro-data through grassroots organisations and aggregate it at various levels, in order to facilitate the measurement of outcomes and the estimation of the impact of those actors on employment, education and social inclusion. 1. The purposes of this project are to identify problems and opportunities for digital inclusion across Europe and to stimulate an informed dialogue among all stakeholders concerned by e-inclusion. More information on the project web site: www.eInclusion-EU.org Project description eInclusion@EU mainly deals with three topics: e-accessibility, e-access to employment and e-access to on-line public services (administration, health and training). Each topic is studied with the same work plan: an evidence-based overview of issues and realisations across Europe; workshops with concerned stakeholders; elaboration of policy recommendations. The project consortium is led by Empirica, a German consultancy specialised into sociopolitical research on ICT. Other public or private research centres are associated in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland and United Kingdom, as well as a network of correspondants in EU-25.

Results and publications. Within the context of the project E-Inclusion, the European Institute of Innovation (reg.ass.) is hosting a free parent-child afternoon on the subject “Facebook and Co. – Social Networks and Privacy”
