Choc on Choc - The Dieline. Choc-on-Choc was a chocolate dream born in 2003 in a small Somerset barn in the village of Rode, near Bath.
A father and daughter partnership was created as they hit upon a patented new way to make layered chocolate. Since then the company has grown phenomenally and converted a new barn into a factory over four times the size of the original factory, marking the fulfilment of their ambition. Following the success of the award-winning brand architecture they created for the core Choc on Choc range, BrandOpus were briefed to work on new product development from the brand, a range of chocolate kits.
As the two chocolate kits are aimed at the gifting market, integral to the brief was the creation of packaging design that appealed as a seasonal Christmas present, but also as an all year around birthday present or party activity. By developing personality through the Billington’s ‘B’, the new design strives to establish an impactful and memorable visual equity for the brand, giving it standout and charisma on shelf. “We chose to focus on the juxtaposition which existed between the refined nature of Billington’s founder Edward Billington and the unrefined nature of the sugar itself. "Leading London design agency Mayday has unveiled packaging designs for ChokaBlok Easter Eggs, a new range of luxury Easter eggs that extends their design work for this ice cream brand into the confectionery gifting sector. Mayday also devised the variant naming – Starstruck Supernova egg, The Rocky Road of Love egg, The Chocolate Extremist egg and Billionaires Dynamite egg, which give the brand a quirky modern feel that is fun and foodie as well as indulgent and witty. Mayday originally developed the brand name, brand identity, packaging design and structural design for ChokaBlok ice cream for supermarket giant Tesco, and is now using packaging design strategically to extended the brand into new territories. BBQ IT. BBQ IT, stems from a desire to make cooking products appeal more to men.
BBQ IT marinade kit draws inspiration from rancher's branding their cattle and working on their farms, to the drinking and grilling style of most men. The set contains two sauces, a spice rub, and a set of coasters (with drinking and grilling connotations branded on), all housed in a custom built wooden box. "In a growing and evolving market, messages and product benefits were often being confused and overlooked by busy consumers.Our creative direction was to strip back all the graphic confusion and clearly and simply to communicate the product, variety and benefits.We decided to do this by creating a unique contemporary illustrative approach and colours that convey the product flavour.Because it is a very graphically busy fixture it was also important to achieve a strong on shelve standout in a strong and confidant manner.The new design creates a modern and contempory theme that is more intune with both the market and the consumer.

Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum, located in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is devoted to a huge collection of coin-operated animatronic dummies, mechanical games and other oddities. Poly was enlisted to evolve the Stark Skincare brand into labels for their inaugural skincare line. Stark wanted packaging that distinguished itself, which meant boldly displaying ingredients and production details as well as being visually striking. This series was an absolute blast to work on – a great opportunity to create an interesting play between our artwork, vivid colours and a quasi-scientific 'elemental' layout. Stark Skincare was created in 2011, as a reaction to greenwashed and conventional skincare products. Orchard Pig. Brand design specialist Blue Marlin has created a dynamic and charming identity to enable artisan cider and juice producer Orchard Pig to scale its core business and move into the mainstream. The new look, which encompasses on premise and off trade across 16 products, begins rolling out this week. Blue Marlin has worked with Orchard Pig for five years, back when it was a hobby brand with an annual turnover of £25,000. Now a £1m brand, it needed a new look to vault it into the big time whilst reinforcing its credibility as a top quality producer with an expanding portfolio of authentic products.
