I’m back with a remake from another one of my favorite TV shows! Last time, Zooey’s red dress from the opening credits of “New Girl” got tackled and this go around I’m headed into ’2 Broke Girls” territory. Our girl, founder Molly McAleer, is a writer on the show which is obviously why it’s one of my favorites. How obsessed am I with Max and Caroline and their hijinks at the Williamsburg Diner? I mean, I am the ultimate sweet tooth, so each time I see their cupcakes being peddled, it’s snack attack time!

Hanging Fabric Ribbon Hoop DIY. Aug 29 by Chiara Alberetti Milott What do you do when you’re co-hosting a baby shower, you’re in charge of decorations, and you live 612 miles away from the shower location?
Perhaps you’d make these hanging ribbon hoops and pack them in your suitcase, ready to unfurl and hang when you arrive the morning of the party. Since I live in New York and the shower was in Ann Arbor, Michigan, I needed to make some suitcase-friendly, portable decorations. It couldn’t be too big or too fragile – I needed something that would survive the flight intact. Materials needed: strips of fabric, hula-hoop, scissors. Step 1: Cut your fabric into 2” x 40” – 48” strips. Step 2: Fold a strip of fabric in half, lay it under the hoop, and then flip the bend of the strip over the hoop. Step 3: Continue all the way around, until you have enough fabric strips to cover the hula-hoop.

I spotted this idea from minifanfan on Making It Lovely last week and just had to give it my own spin. I purchased my Japanese washi tape from Le Box Boutique on Etsy. There are hundreds of washi tape sellers but I chose Le Box because they allow you to purchase tape by the foot rather than having to purchase the entire roll. They were very easy to interact with and I would definitely recommend them if you’re looking to purchase washi tape! I chose these ten patterns but only ended up using eight of them on my keyboard. I first thoroughly cleaned my keyboard with rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt or oil that might keep the tape from sticking.
I originally wanted to do all the keys, including the small keys in the top row, but the tape seemed to have a harder time sticking to the small keys. This project was a bit tedious but simple – perfect for a few hours in front of the tv. What do you think? Tagged as: craft, diy, tutorial.
