Peet's Coffee & Tea :: Sunnyvale, CA. Google I/O site review - SEO troubleshooting with Matt Cutts. June 7th, 2010 Matt Cutts posted the site review session from Google I/O 2010 yesterday – troubleshooting a selection from the 500+ sites sent in for a little R&D following a generous offer on his blog. With him were some fellow Googlers and Vanessa Fox, giving insights on common mistakes and problems when trying to optimise a website or page. From the funny to the ridiculous and the politically controversial, the sites reviewed threw up a lot of great advice. The video is HERE if you want a looksee, but if you haven’t got an hour to spend (I didn’t either but I let my dinner burn for the sake of blog research…) then here it is in bullet form: Put text on your page!
Text embedded within images, however pretty, just isn’t going to get crawled by search engines.Think about the keywords people are actually going to search for, not just your goldmine chosen keyword. Hope that little digested read was of help for those short on time (or who put their meals above their SEO). Share. Sonic Drive-In - Gilroy :: Gilroy, CA. Jack Welch, former CEO of General Electric I have always been a huge proponent of candor. In fact, I talked it up to GE audiences for more than twenty years. But since retiring from GE, I have come to realize that I underestimated its rarity. In fact, I would call lack of candor the biggest dirty little secret in business. What a huge problem it is. When you’ve got candor—and you’ll never completely get it,mind you—everything just operates faster and better. Now, when I say “lack of candor” here, I’m not talking about malevolent dishonesty. They don’t communicate straightforwardly or put forth ideas looking to stimulate real debate.
They keep their mouths shut in order to make people feel better or to avoid conflict, and they sugarcoat bad news in order to maintain appearances. That’s all lack of candor, and it’s absolutely damaging. And yet, lack of candor permeates almost every aspect of business. Most often, I hear that lack of candor is missing from performance appraisals.

Eventbrite’s New iPhone App Brings Official Check-Ins To Conference And Parties. Before you go to a conference these days, everything is online. You can see the schedule, speakers, and buy a ticket all from your laptop. But when you get to the conference, everything reverts to paper. Even when you check in to get your badge, usually a volunteer has to find your name on a list and check it off with a pen.
Online ticketing service Eventbrite just made the check-in process digital with its new iPhone app which just launched today. The app is for people putting on conferences and other events who use Eventbrite to sell tickets. Events can also be broken down into different dinners and meetings with different check-in lists. The iPhone app is another step towards “democratizing ticketing,” he says. Safeway - Wolfe :: Sunnyvale, CA. The Flickr Saloon. "99ers" have exhausted 99 weeks of unemployment benefits - latimes.com. Karl Schafer says he has tried for hundreds of jobs since he was laid off from a truck factory more than two years ago. Still waiting to get hired, the 52-year-old Ohio man has suffered the indignity of applying for food stamps and asking his elderly mother for help. Weary of her own job search, former customer service representative Wagma Omar, 40, of Mission Viejo is thinking about applying for a dangerous civilian job in Afghanistan. And in California's wine country, Kay Stephens, 56, is frantically looking to cut her living expenses so her unemployment doesn't become a burden to her 30-year-old daughter.
Schafer, Omar and Stephens are among the increasing number of unemployed Americans whose burdens just got heavier: They've exhausted their 99 weeks of jobless benefits and must now figure out how to get by on ever more meager resources. In California, state officials estimate there are nearly 100,000 people who are still looking for work but can no longer draw an unemployment check. MTV Networks HQ :: San Francisco, CA. Last week, Gizmodo published a massive scoop when they got their hands on what is mostly likely the next iPhone. At the time there was plenty of talk about the legality of Gizmodo’s actions (as they admitted to paying $5000 for the device).
Now Gizmodo has just published a post saying that editor Jason Chen had four of his computers and two servers confiscated last night by California’s Rapid Enforcement Allied Computer Team, who entered the house with a search warrant. Gawker’s COO Gaby Darbyshire responded to the actions by citing California Penal Code 1524(g), which states that “no warrant shall issue for any items described in Section 1070 of the Evidence Code”, which protects information obtained in protection of a news organization.
Darbyshire also points out that the California Court of Appeal has previously found that these protections apply to online journalists (O’Grady v. Superior Court). In Gizmodo’s post, Chen recounts last night’s events. Linden Tree :: Los Altos, CA. If you can help us get in touch with Gray Powell, we’d like. The Allergy & Asthma Clinic :: San Mateo, California.
