The Three Principles. “Authentic happiness is always independent of external conditions.” –Epictetus, from “The Art of Living.” Mr. Sydney Banks, a 9th-grade educated welder from Scotland, first "discovered" the Three Principles in 1973, when he experienced a life-changing insight, or awakening. His simple message to the world—which he delivered tirelessly and selflessly until his passing on Memorial Day of 2009—was that we all have access to mental health, to spiritual wisdom.
