Guy fixes WWII-damaged buildings with Lego bricks | Daily Contributor
Germany suffered extensive damage during World War II. And today, if you visit Berlin, you can still find bullet holes and bomb blast craters on some of the city’s famous buildings and landmarks. Thanks to Jan Vormann ’s enthusiasm and his passion for Lego ! He and some kids, parents and grandparents took the project “to another dimension” and filled up holes in walls around town with Lego bricks.Posing at the Louvre
About After a visit to Paris last summer we noticed that many museum visitors seemed more interested in striking a pose than looking at the artwork. We decided to make a game of it and capture as many people posing as we could. We've added those, and searched for more online, but you can send us yours!Howard Jacobson: Always room for a little vulgarity - Howard Jacobson, Commentators - The Independent
Before I Die « Candy Chang
It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget what really matters to you. With help from old and new friends, Candy turned the side of an abandoned house in her neighborhood in New Orleans into a giant chalkboard where residents can write on the wall and remember what is important to them. Before I Die is an interactive public art project that invites people to share their hopes and dreams in public space. Painted with chalkboard paint and stenciled with the sentence “Before I die I want to _______”, the wall becomes an enlightening way to understand your neighbors and discover what matters most to the people around you. It creates a public space for contemplation and reminds us why we want to be alive in the world today.Jeff Koons Must Die!!!
Jeff Koons Must Die!!! is made up of a fabricated 80’s style stand-up arcade cabinet, and a simulated digital environment presented in a first-person perspective. Viewers must pay twenty-five cents to play the game and the virtual environment is traversed with a joystick and two arcade buttons. The premise of the video game is to allow the viewer to virtually destroy work by the artist, Jeff Koons. Jeff Koons is one of the most polarizing and well known contemporary artists living today. How To Steal Like An Artist (And 9 Other Things Nobody Told Me) - Austin Kleon
Todd Lamb Notes From Chris Gallery
One of the most prolific and recognizable artists alive today, Ron English has bombed the global landscape with unforgettable images, on the street, in museums, in movies, books and television. English coined the term POPaganda to describe his signature mash-up of high and low cultural touchstones, from superhero mythology to totems of art history, populated with his vast and constantly growing arsenal of original characters, including MC Supersized, the obese fast-food mascot featured in the hit movie “Supersize Me,” and Abraham Obama, the fusion of America’s 16th and 44th Presidents, an image widely discussed in the media as directly impacting the 2008 election. Other characters carousing through English’s art, in paintings, billboards, and sculpture include three-eyed rabbits, udderly delicious cowgirls and grinning skulls, blending stunning visuals with the bitingly humorous undertones of America’s Premier Pop Iconoclast.
