One school district is trying something new. They are changing the amount of time their kindergarteners are in school. Teachers hope that this extra time will give students a chance to learn more. Some school districts already have these longer days. One parent thinks that her son is doing very well. Some people think that a full day of kindergarten is too long for such young children. Socialising 4: Active listening Perhaps the most important skill connected with socialising is to ‘shut up and listen’. In practice, it can be very difficult to resist the temptation to turn every conversation into a conversation about what we consider the most interesting thing in the world, i.e. ourselves.
