Cute Little Cats When God made the world, He chose to put animals in it, and decided to give each whatever it wanted. All the animals formed a long line before His throne, and the cat quietly went to the end of the line. To the elephant and the bear He gave strength, to the rabbit and the deer, swiftness; to the owl, the ability to see at night, to the birds and the butterflies, great beauty; to the fox, cunning; to the monkey, intelligence; to the dog, loyalty; to the lion, courage; to the otter, playfulness. Photo by Ivan Nava Blue Gaze by Douzy The cat shrugged modestly. "But I'm God. "Then I'll have a little of everything, please" said the Cat. And God gave a great shout of laughter at the cleverness of this small animal, and gave the cat everything she asked for, adding grace and elegance and, only for her, a gentle purr that would always attract humans and assure her a warm and comfortable home. But he took away her false modesty. ~ "When God Made Cats" by Lenore Fleischer

Skelewags - Urban Art (by @baekdal) #design Written by Thomas Baekdal | Thursday, August 30, 2007 This cartoon concept by "Chewie" is great - mixing real world environments with cartoon characters. The style with skull like cartoon figures are not that special, but the overall style is. "Chewie" has been very quiet about what this project is really about. I guess we will just have to wait and see. (via ConceptArt Forum) Follow: 42Concepts Frog Photos "I'd kiss a frog even if there was no promise of a Prince Charming popping out of it. Colorado River Toad Description[edit] Range of Incilius alvarius in the United States (it also inhabits northwest Mexico) The Colorado River toad can grow to about 7.5 inches (190 mm) long and is the largest toad in the United States apart from the non-native cane toad (Rhinella marina). It has a smooth, leathery skin and is olive green or mottled brown in color. Just behind the large golden eye with horizontal pupil is a bulging kidney-shaped parotoid gland. Below this is a large circular pale green area which is the tympanum or ear drum. Distribution and habitat[edit] The Colorado River toad is found in the lower Colorado River and the Gila River catchment areas, in southeastern California, New Mexico, Mexico and much of southern Arizona. Biology[edit] The Colorado River toad is carnivorous, eating small rodents, insects, and small reptiles and other toad species; like many toads, it has a long, sticky tongue which aids it in catching prey. In the wild it lives in areas that are too hot and dry for any other cat- the deserts of Africa and Asia, including the Sahara. It is the only desert species of cat known to us. It also lives in the Arabian desert and those of Iran and Pakistan, yet despite being so widespread it was not described by a European until 1858. He named it Felis margarita after Jean August Margueritte. To an extent the sand cat could be mistaken for a domestic cat but there are differences, noticeably the very broad head. Likewise with their height – they usually grow to about six centimeters taller than the domestic cat. One difference from the cats that we know which is difficult to see in these pictures is the fur that the cats have between their toes. So desolate is their natural habitat that sometimes the sand cat can go for months without a drink of water.
