Galaxy Next Door Draugen is a first-person survival horror adventure, set amongst the deep fjords and towering mountains of Norway’s awe-inspiring west coast. The game is a dark and disturbing journey into the pitch black heart of Norwegian national romanticism, as seen through the eyes of an American nature photographer, botanist and entomologist. The Story Inspired by Scandinavian literature, legends and fairytales, as well as Norse mythology and the Icelandic sagas — is set in the early 1920s, and delves into the deepest, darkest secrets of a remote fishing community where every single soul has mysteriously vanished. As the player explores the tiny settlement, gathering clues and memories, and unearthing the truth behind a terrible tragedy, they will learn more about the history of the village and its inhabitants. And they will come to see that behind even the most innocent of facades lurks the potential for malice. But there is more to this place than meets the eye.

Review: Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies by JC Fletcher on Jul 12th 2010 11:45AM If you're familiar with the Dragon Quest series, Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies will feel like a revolution to you, thanks to changes brought in to accommodate its emphasis on multiplayer. If you're a casual or occasional RPG player, however, it's going to feel old-school to the point of being conventional. But it works well in either case: new players will find an unusually accessible, entirely pleasant RPG, while Dragon Quest diehards will delight in the addition of new features to the gameplay they've loved for years. The first big change you'll notice is in the makeup of your party. The lack of "deep" avatar characters allows the townspeople and even the antagonists to shine as the "real" characters. The story is rarely my main issue with JRPGs. For the first time in the series' history, Dragon Quest IX includes both online content and multiplayer. This content is both the most exciting and most disappointing aspect of DQIX.
