SGIker El objetivo de la evaluación no es demostrar, sino mejorar (Zweizig, Wilcox y Robbings, 1996:70) Presentación La importancia que han adquirido las actividades de investigación, desarrollo tecnológico e innovación (I+D+i) requiere acciones de evaluación que aseguren que los esfuerzos invertidos en la producción y explotación del conocimiento sirvan a las necesidades e intereses de la sociedad y reviertan efectiva y eficazmente en ella. La Unidad de cienciometría se integra en los Servicios Generales de Investigación (SGIker) como un mecanismo de seguimiento y evaluación de las políticas de investigación e innovación tecnológica. Su actividad se caracteriza por incorporar la gestión evaluadora tanto a los recursos humanos, tecnológicos y materiales, como a los resultados de las actividades de I+D+I llevadas a cabo por las distintas unidades de SGIker o en las que éstas han participado, para fomentar así su valorización y transferencia.
