Two Stupid Cats It occurs to me I never mentioned that Lola, my lovable but not-all-there kitty, has a sister named Emmy. Emmy is her polar opposite: moody, intelligent, and horribly unfriendly. I remember when I adopted them at the Kitten Rescue. Lola sat there like a tiny furry beached whale, staring off into space, and Emmy was hunched in the corner of her cage scowling at everyone that walked by. I had no idea what I was in for when I picked them out. As they got older, their distinctive personalities differed more and more. Lola will become one with the box. Emmy will destroy it. Lola is an ideal example of the timeless "Cats Don't Care" adage. Emmy, on the other hand, seldom lets anyone get near her. It's a rare occurance when Emmy lets someone pet her, and it's always on her own terms. The pleasantries never last, however. And yet, I can't help but love them both, awful as they are. I've mentioned that Lola and Emmy now live at home with my mom, but I see them a couple times a year when I visit.

Hilarious Celebrity Portraits New York-based photographer Martin Schoeller loves to make us laugh! Take a look at his celebrity portraits of everyone from Quentin Tarantino to Chris Rock and you'll notice a common theme running throughout his work. They're wonderfully wacky! Having worked as an assistant for Annie Leibovitz from 1993 to 1996, Schoeller has the guts to create dramatic scenes that call for his subjects to work outside the box. He's been a staff photographer at The New Yorker since 1999 and his work has appeared in magazines like Rolling Stone, Esquire, Vogue and Vanity Fair. No doubt it's his unique flair that captures our attention and has us eternally wondering what he's got next up his sleeve.

The System 472: Road Sage UPDATE: The Quirky Nomads Podcast has made this comic into a radio production! More info here » ALSO: Now avaiable as an 11×17 print! Check it out here. This is a followup to one of the more popular comics in the archive, famously featuring “figure out purple”. Hitting conflict in the face with more conflict never seems to help, as both sides immediately identify the other as the enemy and shut off any ability to listen to reason. I’d like to point out where this comic starts, “when someone yells at you from their car”. UPDATE: Thanks for all the love on the comic! You can also buy this t-shirt about biking:
