Des chercheurs de l’Université Georgia Tech ont analysé la façon dont les chats réagissaient lors d’une chute pour pouvoir l’appliquer aux robots. Avec les avancées technologiques dans le domaine de la robotique, les robots deviennent plus dynamiques. Il est alors important de travailler sur les algorithmes de contrôle d'une chute. C'est ce qui a été fait pour le petit robot Nao de la société française Aldebaran qui, lorsqu'il "sent" la chute arriver, replit ses bras sur son torse - endroit sensible où se situent ses capteurs - pour parer le coup. Dans une publication, les chercheurs de l'université Georgia Tech ont présenté un algorithme qui optimise la planification de la trajectoire holonome - qui peut effectuer indépendemment deux translations et une rotation - inspirée par le chat qui tombe. L'amortissement d'un système se traduit par l'atténuation des mouvements de celui-ci par la dissipation de l'énergie qui les engendre.

Designing robots to help in a disaster View the video Dennis Hong first spied Japan’s ruined nuclear power plant from a bus wrapped in plastic. A hefty layer of protection guarded the seats, floors and handles from radioactive dust. Hong wore a face mask and gloves to limit his own exposure. Like the other passengers, he had dressed in old clothes that he was willing to toss after the trip. More than three years earlier, after an earthquake and tsunamis battered Japan’s eastern coast, the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station blew, blasting radiation into the sea and sky. “It’s like a disaster site frozen in time,” Hong says. Workers toiled day and night to save the plant, but they had to get out as radiation levels rose. Ideally, robots could take over for human crews. Hong, a UCLA roboticist, is one of several engineers racing to make robots that can come to the rescue in disasters. Engineers have built impressive-looking humanlike bots that can play trumpet and even compete against each other in slow-moving soccer games.

The Status: only 10% of potential users benefit from robots, mainly due to ad hoc expensive custom solutions for installations. NIST worked with ASTM E57 3D imaging systems committee members to define and refine the E2919 : Standard Test Method for evaluating Measurement performance. NIST is providing technical input to new ISO and RIA collaborative robot safety standards: Power and force limiting; speed and separation monitoring; but also evaluating human detection and tracking systems. Foursquare permite a los usuarios hacer un “check-in” (confirmar su presencia) desde cualquier ubicación en la que se encuentre (un parque, una tienda, un restaurante, la universidad, etc.) la aplicación emite un mensaje, si el usuario lo desea, informando donde está para que sus contactos puedan encontrarlo, también le muestra al usuario las recomendaciones que otros han hecho sobre el mismo lugar. A medida que el usuario hace sus “Check-in” va desbloqueando “badges” (insignias) al completar determinadas acciones, es decir va recompensando a los usuarios y en caso de varios “checkin” en un mismo lugar puede llegar a asignarles el título de “Mayor” (o “Alcalde”) si es que se ha conectado más seguido que el resto de los usuarios en ese sitio, aunque este título no es permanente sino que debe ser mantenido con continuas visitas y “check-in”. ¿Qué es Foursquare ADS? La forma más efectiva cambiar Tema Wordpress sin problemas. Si eres de los que se suelen pasar por aquí a menudo, es posible que te haya chocado un poco al entrar en Monetizados del Viernes a hoy. Si, como culo inquieto que soy, constantemente estoy dando vueltas a las cosas relacionadas con el blog y por casualidad encontré un tema de WordPress que me pareció curioso. En ese momento la cabeza empieza ya a hacer runrún y se queda en un bucle en el que la única salida es darle lo que quiere. Así que ahí me puse… Un Jueves por la noche, como si no tuviera cosas que hacer, me decidí a cambiar el tema de Monetizados, jejej. Llevaba tiempo dándole vueltas a la cabeza sobre un posible cambio en el diseño del blog, y al ver ese tema ya no pude hacer otra cosa que lanzarme a ello. Aún queda mucho trabajo para ir retocando cosas y seguramente en unos días no se parezca tanto a cómo está ahora, pero bueno, la base está ahí. ¡Agradeceré que me digáis qué os parece el cambio al nuevo tema!
