untitled Growing Out My Bush Day 180 - From Bare to Bush It’s been 180 days since the inception of this (almost accidental) project. True, I meant to start a blog that documented my pubic hair regrowth, but I never in a million years envisioned that it would become such a renown and adored fixture within Tumblr society. I never thought I’d create a post that received over 100 thousand notes on it on this platform alone and has appeared within countless other venues on the internet. I never thought I’d receive so many messages that my fingers started to burn after hours of responding. I am humbled, grateful and flattered that you, strangers who have never even met me, have given me so much of your love. This project has always been about me, and about the regrowth of my pubic hair. I will not be taking down any of my posts, or deleting my Tumblr or website. I want to say one more thing and it has to do with the question of, “why?” Go get ‘em, tiger. - www.baretobush.com

Your Guide to 'Not All Men,' the Best Meme on the Internet While I understand the place where this comes from (people hate being stereotyped even as they stereotype others), I think people miss the goddamn point: it doesn't matter if not all of group x or y does a or b. If you are not guilty of said action, then it doesn't apply to you. So, not all ____ people are racist against ____ people. If the topic of that is brought up, and you chime in with, "OMG BUT NOT ALL!" On the other hand, generalizations are often unhelpful, so it can be useful to consider when and how you apply them. But really "not all ____" is not helpful in nearly all cases. It's a sure sign of someone thinking everything is always about them. I mean, I did once take affront to an article on here years ago, because I thought it was overly broad and prescriptive.

My Little NON-Homophobic, NON-Racist, NON-Smart-Shaming Pony: A Rebuttal Okay, having finished writing this post, which is now 6500 words (groan) and far longer than I ever intended it to be, I will post it. I started out writing pretty concisely but became more and more, er, eloquent (in quantity of words even if not quantity) I am addressing the commenter “A.T.” as I saw your posts, and – though I immediately disagreed with most of what you said – I felt your discussion was (largely) well-written and your statements generally supported, and after spending most of the day on this, I have challenged – although not significantly changed – my views on how society is presented in MLP: FiM. To start my response I drew up a list of bulletpoints summarising your arguments and evidences over the last page of comments, along with quotes where appropriate. This I have not posted but when I quote you I will provide a link to your original comment. Final note, my spelling will be inconsistent because every time I copy your quotes it resets my language to U.S. BUT. Now.

15 Rape Jokes That Work Lindy West, Jessica Valenti, and Jonnie Marbles have already written everything I would have to say, and quite a bit more, about the latest Daniel Tosh rape joke controversy. So here’s what I have to add to the conversation: an even longer list (including some mentioned by Lindy, Jessica, and Jonnie) of rape jokes that work as jokes–which is to say, A) they’re constructed so that rape victims are not the butt of the joke, and B) they made me laugh. Emphasis on the “me” there. Not everyone’s going to agree, and some people are going to think I’m a bad feminist, which, what else is new. But I want to be able to link to this post in the future, when this happens again–because it always does–and hordes of young men start screaming–because they always do–that feminists are trying to take all the funny out of comedy AGAIN. I am a feminist. 1. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our pussies were detachable? 2. 3. 4. I was raped by a doctor, which is so bittersweet for a Jewish girl. 5. Hello! 6. 7. 8.
