The Seven Works of Mercy (Caravaggio) The Seven Works of Mercy (Italian: Sette opere di Misericordia), also known as The Seven Acts of Mercy, is an oil painting by Italian painter Caravaggio, circa 1607. The painting depicts the seven corporal works of mercy in traditional Catholic belief, which are a set of compassionate acts concerning the material welfare of others. The painting was made for, and is still housed in, the church of Pio Monte della Misericordia in Naples. Originally it was meant to be seven separate panels around the church; however, Caravaggio combined all seven works of mercy in one composition which became the church's altarpiece. The painting is better seen from il "coreto" (little choir) in the first floor.

E. McKnight Kauffer In 1915, E. McKnight Kauffer, an impeccable, young American illustrator just arrived in London, was commissioned for his first poster for the city’s Underground Railway, which was starting an adventurous corporate campaign, treating stations like shops and advertising the delights found en route, with the work of fine artists and painters and ‘new’ typography. Kauffer’s revolutionary work for the Underground, a client he retained for some years along with many prestigious others, precipitated a brilliant London career—one which comprised the largest portion of his life before his return to the U.S. in 1941. He was born in Great Falls, Montana, and studied painting in Chicago (he was greatly influenced by the European art seen in the Armory Show there); he studied in Munich and Paris. Kauffer had style. He had a shock of red-brown hair, a tall frame, slightly stooped shoulders, and a hawk-like nose.

"Dear Mr. Rockwell: You painted one of my sons black." From the Norman Rockwell fan mail archive: “Dear Mr. Rockwell, Let me start this letter by telling you that I am the mother of two of the boys that posed for the 1974 Boy Scout Calendar. “This is a very difficult letter to write as my boys happen to be twins and you painted one of them ‘black.’ Vincent van Gogh Gallery - Welcome! JR JR has created "Infiltrating art". During his collage activities, the local communities take part in the act of artistic creation, with no stage separating actors from spectators. The anonymity of JR and the absence of any explanation accompanying his huge portraits leave him with a free space in which issues and actors, performers and passers-by meet, forming the essence of his work. In 2011 he received the Ted Prize, giving him the opportunity to make a vow to change the world. He created Inside Out, an international participatory art project that allows people from around the world to receive a print of their portrait and then billboard it as support for an idea, a project, an action and share that experience.
