Ira's Deli - Northeast Portland - Portland, OR Celtic knot tutorial - WoodworkersZone WoodWiki From WoodworkersZone WoodWiki Created by EZ Wood This isn't rocket science but some folks asked how to do Celtic rings/knots so, here is a short tutorial. You can do this a number of different ways and on various projects. Get your self a hunk of wood and square it up on the sides and the ends. The next part is about cutting the slots for ring material. Set you miter gauge for the desired angle (I use 25-35 degree cuts) and set your miter gauge stop. Slap your blank in place, clamp and cut. Now you'll need your ring material. Cut the ring material to the correct length and glue it in the blank. Clean-up any overhang with a chisel or block plane. You are now going to repeat the cut, glue, and clean-up on the other 3 sides. When your done with all 4 sides you'll have a square block that looks like the picture below. Lastly some finished stuff with Celtic Rings/Knots: A note about the 25-35 degree angle which the blank is cut and the insets are glued in: This pic shows 4 screwdriver handles.

From idea to a company: Prototyping and manufacturing on a Makerbot 3D printer Jan.21, 2013 Square, owned by Twitter inventor Jack Dorsey, is a handful mobile wallet app that offers sales data to small businesses. Square is famous for its white plastic card reader, a device that lets small businesses use phones and tablets to accept credit cards. Chris Milnes found Square card reader is extremely useful for his business, but he noticed this small card reader tends to spin and twist while swiping credit cards. "I love using the Square Card Reader but there's nothing to prevent the card reader from spinning freely in the headphone jack. Chris created a simple solution. Chris started off with just one Makerbot 3D printer. Square Helper is now available on Chris' online shop for USD$7.99 each, with three color option, white, glow in dark and black. "It sounded funny when I did the computations — I'm going to be running this 24 hours! Source: Makerbot 本站所有文章版权归3ders.org所有,未经许可不得翻译或转载。

Beau Monde - College of Hair Design 6 Core Principles to Tap the Power of Social Community Participation Gartner reports that many business and IT leaders fail at utilizing social media effectively because they do not understand mass collaboration. Many businesses use a “provide and pray” approach, expecting online community participation to just happen. It’s just one of the reasons why communities fail. What happens instead is that users have an initial interest and then lose that interest as they discover that the platform is too difficult to use collaboratively. Applying the six core design principles creates a better social media environment for meaningful collaboration and social community participation, Gartner says. 1. User and community participation is the driving force behind successful mass collaboration. The design becomes driven by this goal instead of making a social outlet where people can easily participate in the conversation and add meaningful content. 2. A purpose must be meaningful, identifiable and clearly defined for the target audience. 3. 4. 5. 6.
