Blog — Practical, proven insight into CADD Management from Mark W. Kiker You notice something. Then you become concerned. Then it becomes an “Issue”. That is the progression… but how does it move from one to the next? These are the steps of items evolving beyond annoyance, anomaly or abstraction. These are the items that have others moving beyond concern to very concerned, to an issue. How things move from Noticed to a Concern If you notice something, you keep your eye on it and address it when it first looks to be a concern. After investigating things you notice, if they are bigger than you think or have greater impact, they move to concerns. But when do people come and talk to you about troubling items? How things move from Concern to Issue Moving from concern to issue happens when something along the pathway of correction fails to work. Things get to the issue level by being ignored. Things get to an issue level when you are not made aware of them. Things get to an issue level when your corrective measures are not enough.

Re-Thinking CAD Standards: Why there’s never a good time, and never a better time… :: complexitys After several months of blood, sweat and tears, we are very happy to share with you a free download of our CAD Standards, the Electronic File Naming Convention and the Project Folder Organisation we will be using at HDA, with immediate effect. We are a hybrid team of architects, designers and engineers. Even though we strongly believe in this interdisciplinary approach, we understand that it presents difficulties in achieving coherence and clarity in our management systems. The files we are sharing today with our readers are the first outcome of a thorough review and coordination process intended to make our different design tools and activities more coherent. As noted elsewhere on this blog, at HDA we believe in an open culture, that sharing content can be useful, productive and not anti-economic, and therefore offer these free to download in the hope that they may be useful to others. As noted earlier, HDA is a French company. In just over three years ProcessLibrary.com has already attracted five million hits every month! Deep in the recesses of any computer, innumerable processes are running silently in the background. Some hog system resources, drastically slowing computers down; others are a haven for spyware and trojans, violating privacy and giving hackers free access to compromised systems. ProcessLibrary.com has grown to become the definitive reference point for anyone who needs comprehensive information on these processes. ProcessLibrary.com already offers users its very own ProcessQuickLink that installs as a plug-in to the existing Windows Task Manager.
