Free Fox Sewing Pattern My gosh, where have I been lately? What month is it? June? We moved from Minnesota to Maryland last summer? Yes. I had to start the kids in one school in September, and then a few weeks later when we finally closed on a house, had to move them to another school. Then just before Thanksgiving, I lost a friend to cancer. All of this is not to say that I stopped making stuff. So I have a lot of stuff in the works, but here's what I've been dabbling with for the past few weeks: Gold dimensional paint. First, there was a jellyfish. We visited the National Aquarium here in Baltimore, and I fell in love with the moon jellies. And then there was a golden longhorn. Again with the blobby paint to highlight the strange characteristics of this animal. I hear they raise ostriches out in West Texas. With semi-grotesquely realistic birdy legs. I also got on a preppy kick and made this striped whale. And an elephant with gold tusks. Are there any other animals with strange features to highlight in gold?

Supplies needed: You’ll need one quarter yard (one quarter meter) of material for bodysuit, and one quarter yard (one quarter meter) of material for skirt, which could be a contrasting fabric. Two sticky dots for front shirt and back shirt closing, (no buttons for kids doll clothes, please). Cross grain or satin ribbon for waist and bow. Lace for neck edge.

Inexpensive Ideas for Bitty Babywear Bitty Baby is was dressed for Christmas! Auntie Becca passed on to her niece Mahala her precious Bitty Baby who needed an updated outfit for the season. The American Girl Bitty Babies are one of my very favorite dolls for wee ones I thought I would post my favorite frugal alternative to paying $26.00 per outfit. I buy Child of Mine by Carters Preemie Baby Sleepers in the Infant Department at Walmart. Often I will find the sleepers and other preemie wear for as little as $1.00 an sleeper or outfit on clearance. Little girls will love the cute preemie pink ballet sleepers and appliqued pink pastel monkey sleepers which just came in. I used a remnant of red bump minky blanket material and lined it with a red Christmas flannel to make Bitty a matching blanket. To make a Bitty Baby Blanket Cut two fabrics 20 inches by 24 inches Pin right sides together Using 1/4 inch seam allowance Begin in the center of one side and stitch around the rectangle, leaving a 4 inch opening.

Write Your Name in Elvish in Ten Minutes Write Your Name in Elvish in Ten Minutes You want to write your name in Elvish, but every place you go seems to make it harder than it ought to be. Elvish writing looks beautiful and mysterious, but does it really have to be impossible to understand? Why doesn't somebody just spell out the alphabet so you can simply substitute the letters and get straight to the result? That's exactly what I've done here. Here's the alphabet. That's it. Generally the vowels go above the consonants, but sometimes, in the case of Y and silent E, they go below. The straight line underneath is just one way to make one character do the work of two. The line above a consonant means that a nasal N or M precedes the consonant in question. Here's one last example with two different letter combinations. I am often asked how to handle double vowel situations. That's all you need to get started. Please be aware that there are many ways to write English words in Elvish. Good luck! Soft Woolen Bunny There is something almost miraculous about sewing a stuffed animal. You start with a bunch of odd shapes that don’t seem to have much to do with one another. Then as you sew them together, they gradually begin to take form, and suddenly, as you turn it right side out and begin stuffing, it comes to life! Those mismatched pieces are somehow transformed into a cuddly friend! In my opinion, there is no stuffed animal more inviting than a bunny. And with Easter fast approaching, now is the perfect time to create one. This Soft Woolen Bunny is a totally approachable project, even for your first stuffed animal.
