Κεχρί: πολύτιμο από την προϊστορική εποχή έως σήμερα Στην Ελλάδα, οι περισσότεροι το γνωρίζουμε απλά ως "τροφή των πουλιών". Στην πραγματικότητα το κεχρί είναι ένα τρόφιμο γεμάτο πολύτιμα συστατικά, το οποίο για αιώνες έθρεψε πολλούς λαούς, σε διάφορες γωνιές του κόσμου. Το μέγεθός του είναι μικρό και το σχήμα του στρογγυλό. Εμείς γνωρίζουμε τις κίτρινες ποικιλίες του, όμως το κεχρί βγαίνει σε διάφορες ποικιλίες με χρώμα το οποίο παρουσιάζει διαβαθμίσεις από γκριζωπό μέχρι κόκκινο. Προέλευση - Ιστορία Το κεχρί θεωρείται ότι προέρχεται από τη Βόρεια Αφρική, ιδιαίτερα από την περιοχή της Αιθιοπίας, όπου και καλλιεργούνταν από τα προϊστορικά ακόμη χρόνια. Υπάρχουν αναφορές στη Βίβλο, για τη χρήση του κεχριού σε τύπο άζυμου ψωμιού. Η καλλιέργεια του κεχριού την προϊστορική εποχή επικρατούσε επίσης, έναντι της αντίστοιχης καλλιέργειας του ρυζιού και στις περιοχές όπου βρίσκονται σήμερα η Ινδία, η Κίνα και η Κορέα. How Dawn Helps Save Wildlife The Marine Mammal Center (TMMC) TMMC is a state-of-the-art nonprofit veterinary hospital and research center made up of over 1,000 volunteers. Since 1975, they’ve dedicated themselves to the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured, or orphaned marine mammals like seals, sea lions, and dolphins. Based in Sausalito, California, TMMC also doubles as an education center, teaching more than 100,000 kids and adults each year about the animals, ocean health, and connections we all share. Define Success | What Does Success Mean To You? Define Success – Big House? Fancy Car? Or….Just Happiness? It was not until I found myself laying in a hospital bed last June that I was finally able to define success. Prior to landing in the hospital I was a very successful salesman in corporate America. I had reached a 6-figure a year income and I was quickly climbing the “corporate ladder.” At this time, I was living to work and not working to live. 90% of the people that I ask this exact question cannot come up with an answer. For others, success is finally paying off all their credit cards and being debt free! Prior to June of 2011 my definition of success was something along the lines of this: I define success as working hard, having a big job title and making as money as possible. By following this definition I ended up having a mini-stroke at the age of 31.
