Mind maps are used to generate, visualize, structure, and classify ideas, and as an aid to studying and organizing information, solving problems, making decisions, and writing. The elements of a given mind map are arranged intuitively according to the importance of the concepts, and are classified into groupings, branches, or areas, with the goal of representing semantic or other connections between portions of information.

In a similar way to brainstorming, it is not the quality of ideas that matters but the quantity. The technique involves 6 participants who sit in a group and are supervised by a moderator. Each participant thinks up 3 ideas every 5 minutes. The ideas are written down on a worksheet and passed on to the next participant. iMindMap - Basic People within organisations and educational institutions around the world are already seeing the benefits of iMindMap – start discovering them yourself today. “Your Mind Mapping software has transformed our business & become a part of our cultural DNA.” Wheaton Wealth Partners, USA

The truth is that i haven't worked with the online mind mapping tool so far. I have made some maps with Freemind and downloaded it for the school laptops. It's available in greek, a detail i have in mind since my pupils are young and their english still need to be improved. Well, i've already started teaching it to my 6th grade students so as to create their own maps. I'm exploring your pearls right now to find new interesting ideas. If you have a suggestion for a tool, suitable for young learners, i'd be grateful if you let me know. i'll help them with the language detail as much as i can. by vana Feb 27
