Description La caractéristique des articulations synoviales est de présenter entre les os qui s’articulent un espace appelé cavité articulaire. Cette dernière leur confère une importante mobilité, qui permet d’assurer la majeure partie des mouvements (marcher, écrire, lever un bras, etc.) effectués tous les jours. La surface articulaire Cette région où les os entrent en contact est recouverte d’une couche cartilagineuse, le cartilage articulaire. Un tissu souple, lisse et luisant qui recouvre les os sans les relier, réduit leur friction pendant le mouvement et contribue à amortir les chocs.

Comme tout schéma, les images qui suivent simplifient grandement leurs modèles, abandonnant une multitude d’informations, en exacerbant d’autres. Aucune légende ne figure sur les schémas car il me semble plus facile de les rajouter à sa convenance, par informatique, que de les effacer. Enfin, ces images forment, à plusieurs reprises, une séquence dont la lecture illustre un processus dynamique. Il convient de garder à l’esprit que la reproduction de ces schémas exige un temps et des savoir-faire graphiques dont ne disposent pas l’immense majorité des élèves lors de l’épreuve du baccalauréat.
