How I built an electricity producing Solar Panel

How I built an electricity producing Solar Panel
Several years ago I bought some remote property in Arizona. I am an astronomer and wanted a place to practice my hobby far away from the sky-wrecking light pollution found near cities of any real size. In my attempt to escape city light pollution, I found a great piece of remote property. The problem is, it's so remote that there is no electric service available. I built a wind turbine to provide some power on the remote property. Here is a video of the solar panel set up and in use on my remote, off-grid property. Let me state up front that I probably won't be able to help you out much if you decide to build your own solar panel(s). So what is a solar panel anyway? I started out the way I start every project, by Googling for information on home-built solar panels. After a while, I came to some conclusions: Once I came to the realization that I could use blemished and factory-second solar cells to build my panels, I finally got to work. seller. Oops! Next time I will do it differently. Related:  Hands-on

How I built an electricity producing wind turbine Several years ago I bought some remote property in Arizona. I am an astronomer and wanted a place to practice my hobby far away from the terrible light pollution found near cities of any real size. I found a great piece of property. One thing I noticed right away about my property is that most of the time, the wind is blowing. Ce vélo-bureau qui permet de produire de l'électricité VIE PROFESSIONNELLE - Oubliez les bureaux qui permettent de travailler debout pour passer moins de temps assis. Ils sont déjà has been. Passive Solar House Plans Passive Solar Home Plans Efficient use of the sun's energy is not necessarily a modern phenomena. Many centuries ago the Anasazi Indians of Southern Colorado found a way to capture the oblique rays of a winter sun. During the summer solstice sunset, light shines through a porthole and hits the very corner of a doorway into an eastern room. Unfortunately we all can't live at the base of south facing canyon wall so if we live in the South West we might decide to live in an alternative passive solar dwelling called the Adobe. Passive solar heating is accomplished by collecting and distributing heat from the sun without external mechanical pumping systems. Some people say passive systems are better than active systems because they cost less and use no external energy source. This passive solar greenhouse would be a cozy little place to go on a sunny, cold January day in the North America. Looks like a fun place to visit, but do you have something a little more cubicle? It's funny looking.

DIY Solar Air Heating Collectors: Pop Can vs Screen Absorbers Search The Renewable Energy site for Do-It-Yourselfers Page Contents: The test collectors: Pop can collector on left and screen collector on right Collector Basics There is a lot of not so good information out there on what makes a good solar air heating collector design, so I thought I would include a little info on solar air collector physics, what makes for a good design, and how one can measure and compare collectors accurately. How do collectors work, and what makes a good design? On just about all solar thermal collectors, the sun shines through the glazing, and hits the collector absorber heating it. In full sun, the incoming solar energy is about 1000 watts per square meter of collector area. Most of this 850 w/sm that made it into the absorber end up going down one of two paths:: one part is picked up by the air flowing through the collector and ends up heating the room, and the other part ends up being lost out the glazing. The heat output the collector can be calculated as: 1. 4.

Car Emergency Kit - Make Your Own Roadside Safety Pack Soon after becoming obsessed falling in love with the DIY natural lifestyle, I realized that it had applications far beyond my home. Like my car. Well, I suppose that’s not too far from my home, but still. I quickly realized that with all of the time I spend in my car, it would be wise to assemble a DIY road safety kit. And I can’t tell you how many times it’s come in handy (especially as owners of older VW vans – they tend to require special attention). Our road safety kit has changed a little over the years and it’s personalized to our family of six. We keep most of our stuff in a small crate that my husband divided into sections with some spare plywood. Here’s a look at our road safety kit: Oil (and accessories) Like I said, older VW vans… We like to keep a quart on hand at all times, along with a funnel and rag to use when we check the oil. Windshield Washer Fluid Extra Clothes These clothes stay in a small plastic tote and I try to include layers that will work no matter what season.
