Stad Gent schrapt tonijn officieel van het menu GENT - Stad Gent zal in een officieel besluit vastleggen dat er op broodjes en in broodbuffetten voor diverse stadsdiensten door de stad aangeboden geen tonijn meer wordt geserveerd. Dat zei Martine De Regge (SP.A), schepen van Personeel. Ze antwoordde op een vraag van gemeenteraadslid Steven Vromman (Groen) die wees op het bedreigde tonijnbestand en vroeg of Gent een tonijnvrije stad kan worden zoals er al steden, bedrijven en universiteiten zijn. De Regge wees erop dat de stad al in raamcontracten voor broodjes en catering een aantal criteria over duurzaamheid heeft opgenomen en dat er rekening gehouden wordt met de gegevens van de viswijzer. Vromman wil dat de stad de lijn nog doortrekt naar diverse feestelijkheden en personeelsrestaurants.
