say YES! to hoboken: DIY: Tinted Mason Jars in Rainbow I’ve been experimenting with tinting mason jars to create a look like those old vintage ones that are difficult to find anymore in second hand stores. I think I’ve finally honed in on the perfect method. Would you like to see how it’s done? Check out the DIY here. Fill them with flowers, or illuminate an outdoor party filling them with battery operated tea lights or a strand of twinkle lights. Fantastic DIY 7 Color Laser Tutorial Here’s another fantastic tutorial from Jay, a DIY lasers expert. See all of our DIY Laser Projects. I finally finished my 7 color laser! For the guts of the project, I followed this great Laser tutorial on HacknMod. (by rog8811) Wipe Off Weekly Menu Board I am a meal planner. I refuse to go grocery shopping without my week’s worth of meals planned out and list made. (It’s either that or wander aimlessly around the grocery store for two hours and then make ten more trips back during the week to get things I forgot.) Once I get the groceries unloaded, I usually forget what I planned for, so I put together this super easy wipe-off menu board to keep track of what’s for dinner each night! Flashback: Jam Jar Lanterns : Daily source of DIY craft projects and inspiration, patterns, how-tos In a matter of days, it will officially be summer in the northern hemisphere. Parties, weddings, barbecues, and quality outdoor time all call for some sweet outdoor lighting when the sun goes down. It’s a perfect time to flashback to the Jam Jar Lanterns tutorial from the pages of CRAFT Volume 10, the Celebrate issue, written by our own wildly talented Brookelynn Morris. She originally came up with this charming design, and the rig that makes making a number of them a breeze, when she was making a set for her dear friends Harper and Christian’s outdoor wedding (reception pictured above).

Lovely Spaces – Craft room (Part 2) Hello my lovely readers! This past weekend was so crazy! We lost our power Thursday night – I’m so glad I schedule my draft post – The bad part I spend days without power in our house, when you work in your computer that’s kind of a vital ingredient hehe. This past storm was pretty big and brought a lot of snow and that caused a lot of trees fall down =[ It was my first time in a storm like this and it was pretty surprising to see a lot of street closed, cars stuck and not being able to cook or have heater (the bad part about having electric stove!) So now that you are all updated in my weekend, I want to share some of my favorite Craft room/Office images, all of them collected via Pinterest! [source]

Project I think a lot of us have a contrarian streak - a tendency to resist things that are popular, and especially things that cross the line from popular into ubiquitous. One night in December, Allen and I were driving to a barbecue place for dinner, and we passed a lot of houses decorated with white Christmas lights, and a few with colored Christmas lights, but only a couple with icicle lights - the ones that were so rampant for the last ten years or so. Not the molded plastic ones that are actually shaped like icicles, but the light strings that have smaller little strings hanging off of them. I said to Allen, "Do you think, now that those icicle lights aren't so popular anymore, they're okay for us to start using?" Allen was shocked. "You like those?"

Mystical, Magical & Magnificent Monasteries in Meteora (20 Pics) The caves in Meteora, Greece, had inhabitants for fifty millennia, but due to raids, “hermit monks” moved to the safety of sandstone rock pinnacles in the 9th century and began building monasteries. More monks and nuns came, building more monasteries perched high upon the cliffs. Wikipedia reports, “Access to the monasteries was originally (and deliberately) difficult, requiring either long ladders lashed together or large nets used to haul up both goods and people. This required quite a leap of faith — the ropes were replaced, so the story goes, only ‘when the Lord let them break.’” UNESCO World Heritage says, “The net in which intrepid pilgrims were hoisted up vertically alongside the 1,224 ft. cliff where the Varlaam monastery dominates the valley symbolizes the fragility of a traditional way of life that is threatened with extinction.”

Flashback: Woven Map Basket : Daily source of DIY craft projects and inspiration, patterns, how-tos Maps can be amazing design elements, with all their intricately drawn lines and minute details. But what do you do with a regular paper map that is starting to fall apart from use? In CRAFT Volume 05, crafter Jane Patrick suggested we weave maps into baskets, a fun and interesting way to reuse castoffs and weave a little memory into a functional item. Check out her full tutorial here and pick up a back issue of CRAFT Volume 05, the Paper issue, in the Maker Shed.Woven Memory Basket Weave your vacation road maps into an attractive souvenir. By Jane Patrick Think of basketry as three-dimensional weaving. Make It and Love It: Tutorials Here is a list of tutorial categories found on Make It and Love It.
