TurboEnglish - Getting It Right! - engelsk grammatik Wikispaces was founded in 2005 and has since been used by educators, companies and individuals across the globe. Unfortunately, the time has come where we have had to make the difficult business decision to end the Wikispaces service. We first announced the site closure in January 2018, through a site-wide banner that appeared to all logged-in users and needed to be clicked on to dismiss During the closure period a range of banners were shown to users, including a countdown banner in the final month. Additionally, the home page of became a blog, detailing the reasons for the closure. Private Label Site Administrators were contacted separately regarding the closure Why has Wikispaces closed? Approximately 18 months ago, we completed a technical review of the infrastructure and software we used to serve Wikispaces users.

Grammar contrasts 3: will vs going to By Scott Thornbury An article explaining the difference between 'will' and 'going to' when talking about the future. Old, old chestnuts I know, but.............the most recurrent problems I have with students are (1) present perfect vs past simple and (2) 'going to' vs 'will'. Any hot tips?? John Wright There are a number of ways of dealing with these tricky grammar distinctions, and a lot will depend on the level and needs of the students, their learning style, your institutional demands (e.g. whether the distinction is to be tested in a forthcoming exam), and finally, your own personal theories of language learning. Will vs Going To Option 1 Ignore it completely, especially at lower levels. The difference between will and going to (not to mention other ways of expressing futurity) is so subtle that it cannot be easily conveyed through rules or isolated examples. Option 2 Rule of thumb 1'Going to' is a kind of present tense – look at its form! I think it’s going to rain.I think it will rain.

Writing Exercises and Prompts Adverbs and adverb phrases: position - English Grammar Today We can put adverbs and adverb phrases at the front, in the middle or at the end of a clause. The front position of the clause is the first item in the clause: Suddenly I felt afraid. Yesterday detectives arrested a man and a woman in connection with the murder. The end position of the clause is the last item in the clause: Why do you always have to eat so fast? The mid position is between the subject and the main verb: Apples always taste best when you pick them straight off the tree. Where there is more than one verb, mid position means after the first auxiliary verb or after a modal verb: The government has occasionally been forced to change its mind. You can definitely never predict what will happen. We mightn’t ever have met. In questions, mid position is between the subject and the main verb: Do you ever think about living there?
