Pugly Pixel Blog Overcast and cloudy, or rather, "Mostly Cloudy," is the forecast that I pray for as I squint into my iPhone weather app at 5:30 every morning. But, just my luck, I usually get "Sunny" or "Partly Cloudy", which usually turns out to be "Mostly Sunny". Oh, but not so today, my friends. Today I got "Rain" --- glorious afternoon rain! exitcreative is a blog about web things, brand things, and real things. For the past eight months, we’ve been implementing Holacracy. I think it’s great, and we’re going to continue using it at UC. Last week, I posted four great things about Holacracy. Today, I offer four things I could do without. 1. Confusing Word Choices Having a shared pattern language for describing the organization is crucially important. “Tension” is a word that, in business contexts, leads people to think about issues instead of opportunities. Word choice is important. What to do: Re-think every defined term in the system with a user-focused lens. 2. It’s too long, mostly because it’s written in a dense, unapproachable style that comes from its intended use: to be adopted as an addition to the operating agreement of a company. For example, here’s a core concept of the system, as expressed in the constitution: 4.2.2 Requests for Processing. What to do: Radically simplify the constitution. 3. I think of dogma inside the Holacracy system in a couple of ways. 4. This is the big one for me.

This sunday started quite early in our sunny kitchen, preparing green smoothies and delicious coffee for each of us. Then I took the car for a 30 minutes drive though the beautiful city, heading to the BESONDERSschön market at the … Continue reading We had such a lovely sunday. I try to appreciate every season but I can easily say that spring is the one I like the most. Some more impressions of my trip to Berlin at the first weekend of the year. Teguise is the former capital city of Lanzarote with a lovely historical city center and lots of nice little restaurants. One of the reasons why I liked Lanzarote is the architecture and the influence of César Manrique, who appealed to build houses in harmony with nature. My first short trip this year was going to Berlin. I didn’t know much about Lanzarote before, but I heard a lot about the black and maybe even boring landscape. These are just some moments of our last week of 2013. © 2013 Trixi.

Home - 40 West Arts District decor8 DUKE SHOMAN PHOTOGRAPHY photography sandra juto illustration When Liz asked me if I'd like to host the Fashion's Night Out party & craft night at Dalaga in Greenpoint I immediately said yes, but I really don't know what I'm getting myself into! I've never hosted an event, never done anything fashion week related, never seen my clothes in a store in front of a ton of people...ha. So come by and say hi that night if you're in the area! And if you can't make it, or just want to see my clothes IRL, the pop-up shop will be there through September 16. I finished up these posters last night for both the Greenpoint and Soho stores. It was a lot of fun drawing a bunch of different designers, and interesting to re-draw some of my own patterns.
