There are few things that can galvanize the news world’s attention like a change in leadership atop The New York Times. Jill Abramson’s ouster yesterday afternoon probably reduced American newsroom productivity enough to skew this quarter’s GDP numbers. We don’t typically write about intra-newsroom politics at Nieman Lab, leaving that to Manhattan’s very capable cadre of media reporters. But Abramson’s removal and Dean Baquet’s ascent has apparently inspired someone inside the Times to leak one of the most remarkable documents I’ve seen in my years running the Lab, to Myles Tanzer at BuzzFeed. And that is something we’re interested in here — one of the world’s leading news organizations, giving itself a rigorous self-examination. I confess I didn’t feel anything quite so revelatory when I read last week’s leaked version — which read like an indoor-voice summary, expected and designed to be leaked to the broader world. Le modèle de Blendle est simple. Blendle se rapproche un peu de la philosophie des sites de musique en ligne. Un peu plus d'un an après son lancement aux Pays-Bas, la start-up revendique 300 000 utilisateurs mensuels dans ce pays. In an email to Re/code, Medium’s operations chief Andy Doyle confirmed that the service had killed the comments on Carney’s post, saying, “When users request it, we will shut off responses to a post.” Sources close to Medium say that the company is likely to ship a feature in its next update that will let writers make responses “not visible” at the bottom of a post. It’s pretty clear why Jay Carney would want to publish his response to the Times on Medium: The service has a clean, easy-to-read publishing interface, there’s a built-in audience of users and the content looks great on mobile. Turning off the comments, however, might seem to some as though Medium is granting Amazon a more privileged voice over the community of its readers.
