Cherry Cake with Cherry Cream Cheese Frosting I am always on the look out for recipes using cherry pie filling. Last summer I canned some sour cherries for the first time and have quite a few jars left of the homemade cherry pie filling I made. I have always loved cherries, ever since I was a kid. Whether it was fresh sweet cherries straight from the bag or cherry pie desserts, didn’t matter to me. So when I found this cherry cake recipe I knew I had to try it. I found the original recipe on Cheryl’s site, TidyMom. This has a marvelous cherry and almond flavor, absolutely delicious! Cherry Cake with Cherry Cream Cheese Frosting adapted from Sweetheart Cherry Cake printable version 1 box white cake mix 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon almond extract 1 (21 oz) can homemade cherry pie filling (or canned), divided Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Specifically, cookbooks created by New England civic organizations between 1950 and 1980 for fundraising purposes. With yard sale season in full swing, I find myself solvent with new recipe ideas, among them one I found in this vandalized and water-damaged collection. The picture on the cover somewhat suggests the architecture of Calvary Baptist Church in Easthampton, but I bought the book in Millbury and it has no date (I’ve never been to that Church, I just tried to do some due diligence in my googling). And hey, no cake flour or fancy measuring required, because we’re using cake mix. I let my ice cream soften by scooping it up into small chunks and letting it sit a few minutes. The recipe calls for greasing & flouring a tube pan. After 4 minutes of beating, the batter kinda just looks like . . . well, melted ice cream. She was right. Preheat oven to 350o.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cupcakes New Photo from my cookbook “Your Cup of Cake” The Story: Whenever I see cinnamon sugar, I tend to laugh at myself a little bit. Zebra Cake | The Whimsical Cupcake Animal prints is something I never really got behind. It was something that I only saw on 75 year old blue-haired ladies that are way cooler than me or on kids who looked like walking cheetahs. Not really the look I go for. Lately everywhere I look, there’s something with some form of animal print on it and I find myself liking it. Ok, not EVERYTHING but a few pieces here and there. I can probably attest some of this animal print tolerance to my sister, she’s so stylish sometimes that it kills me. ;) I’m not sure what kind of demographic I reach out there in internet land, animal print lovers or haters, but I’m sure your love or hatred won’t apply to this cake. I said it. This is a simple cake needs no pillowy frostings, no fancy ganaches, and no whippy creams. Zebra CakeAdapted from King Arthur Flour Yields one 9″ or 8″ round cake Ingredients: Directions: 1) Preheat the oven to 350°F. 2) In the bowl of your mixer, blend the sugar and eggs until lightened, about 2 minutes. Slutty Brownies - StumbleUpon Now I don’t want to over sell this, so I’m going to be conservative and simply say, that these are… The Best Brownies In The WORLD. I know, big statement. They’re called Slutty Brownies because they’re oh so easy, and more than a little bit filthy. They’re best served warm from the oven, with good quality vanilla ice cream (devastatingly I didn’t have any in the freezer this time, so I guess I’ll just have to make them again). They take about 45mins to make, including baking time. The ultimate comfort food, whipped up within the hour. You will need… 1 Box of cookie mix, 1 Box of brownie mix, 2 Eggs, 2 Packs of Oreos (double stuffed ones are even better if you can find them) Some oil & your favourite ice-cream (optional) Preheat your oven to 350F, 180C, gas mark 4. Line a baking tray with grease proof paper. Squidge (technical term) the cookie dough into a lined baking tray, until it covers the bottom. Cover this layer with your Oreos. Mix up your brownie batter. & pour over your Oreos. Bake for 30mins.
Oreo Cupcakes They are probably the best Oreo cakes I have ever tried. A lot of cake's that I have experimented with before are like a vanilla cake with bits of Oreo in them, which didn't really give them enough Oreo flavor. But these were a lot better. I used a dark chocolate fudge cake mix instead of just a regular chocolate cake mix, which went really well with the cookies and gave the cakes just a little more flavor. So, in this recipe there is Oreo's in the cake, in the frosting, and at the bottom is a Oreo surprise. Ingredients 1 package Oreo Cookies, regular size 1 package Mini Oreo Cookies, for decoration (optional) 1 package chocolate cake mix (mix according to directions on box) 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), room temperature 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract cupcake liners Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together butter and cream cheese. foodsnots.com

Strawberries and Cream Mug Cake After seeing Angie’s mug cakes I’ve become obsessed with making them. I’ve been a bit gung-ho with anything strawberry flavored lately so, after mastering several chocolate mug cakes, I decided to try and make a strawberries and cream mug cake. I loved the idea of a fruity flavored cake that would be delicious topped with fresh strawberries and cream this summer.
