mapView: basic interactive viewing of spatial data in R Working with spatial data in R I find myself quite often in the need to quickly visually check whether a certain analysis has produced reasonable results. There are two ways I usually do this. Either I: (sp)plot the data in R and then toggle back and forth between the static plots (I use RStudio) orsave the data to the disk and then open in QGIS or similar to interactively examine the results. DjangoResources This page lists open source projects and applications regarding Django, the framework for perfectionists with deadlines. Feel free to update this page to improve the content as you see an opportunity to add or modify a resource, or to remove any unmaintained project from the list. ToDo ¶

Off Canvas Multi-Device Layouts Most multi-device layout patterns for the Web are designed to rearrange page elements within a visible browser window. Off canvas multi-device layouts, on the other hand, use the space outside a browser’s viewport to hide secondary elements until people need them. Jason Weaver and I put together demonstrations of several new off canvas layout patterns. Why Off Canvas Layouts? In my survey of multi-device layouts patterns, I found several common ways to adapt Web page designs to a variety of screen sizes. For, While and Do While Loops in C Loops are used to repeat a block of code. Being able to have your program repeatedly execute a block of code is one of the most basic but useful tasks in programming -- many programs or websites that produce extremely complex output (such as a message board) are really only executing a single task many times. (They may be executing a small number of tasks, but in principle, to produce a list of messages only requires repeating the operation of reading in some data and displaying it.) Now, think about what this means: a loop lets you write a very simple statement to produce a significantly greater result simply by repetition.

Create a Mobile HTML5 RPG - Tutorial Don't forget to check out my online course HTML5 Mobile Game Development for Beginners. Get 90% OFF!. Only until the end of the month. Intro In this tutorial, I'll show you how to create a (very) simple RPG demo that works in all HTML5 supporting platforms, using the Open Source Javascript framework LimeJS. This framework allows you to quickly create simple games that work regardless of the screen resolution of your device (laptop, phone, tv). Back to school: Canada lagging in push to teach kids computer coding Armed with rope, pictures and elephant headbands, it looks like this group of nine-year-olds is setting up a huge game of hopscotch. But they're really laying out the biggest thing to hit British schools in a century. As the students direct each other through the grid they've built, they're learning the basic fundamentals of computer coding, in the process moving beyond how to use computers to how computers work. "We're actually enabling them and empowering them with skills and capability so that they can choose how they solve problems using technology," says Peter Gaynord, a teacher at Histon and Impington Junior School near Cambridge, England. This class is far from unique.

Running and Debugging In PyCharm, you can run and debug various types of applications without leaving the IDE. Each script, manage.py task, Django server, or a test that you wish to run or debug from within PyCharm, needs a special profile that specifies script name, working directory, and other important data required for running or debugging in different modes. PyCharm comes with a number of such pre-defined profiles, or run/debug configurations.

Facebook's New Spam-Killer Hints at the Future of Coding Louis Brandy pauses before answering, needing some extra time to choose his words. “I’m going to get in so much trouble,” he says. The question, you see, touches on an eternally controversial topic: the future of computer programming languages. In the early ’90s, a committee of academics built Haskell as a kind of experiment in language design, and all these years later, it remains on the fringes of mainstream programming. At GitHub—the primary repository for software code on the ‘net—Haskell ranks 23rd on the list of the most popular languages. GitHub Special: Data Scientists to Follow & Best Tutorials on GitHub Introduction Twitter started the trend of ‘People to Follow’. This later got replicated by other platforms such as Facebook, Linkedin, Quora and GitHub. This cool feature lets you connect with the rockstars of various domains and get an access to what is going on their end without bothering them much.

Team Collaboration With GitHub GitHub has become the corner stone for all things open source software. Developers love it, collaborate on it and are constantly building awesome projects through it. Apart from hosting our code, GitHub's main attraction is using it as a collaborative tool. In this tutorial, let's explore some of the most useful GitHub features, especially for working in teams, making it all the more efficient, productive and, most importantly, fun! One thing that I find very useful is integrating the Github Wiki into the main source code project.
