All of the Solar Millennium Group’s core Concentrating Solar Power markets showed positive signs: Spain has provided for legal security in the issue of feed-in tariffs for pre-registered projects; the US extended its Renewable Energy Grants, for investments in solar-thermal power plants by one year; and, in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa), Solar Millennium managed to pre-qualify to participate in the bid for a 125 MW solar power plant in Morocco. In Spain, Real Decreto 1614/2010, which took effect in December, governs the details of the Spanish feed-in tariffs, thus providing for investment security and regulatory stability. These regulations adapt earlier royal decrees to the changed situation on the Spanish market. As such, it was determined that a maximum of 4,000 full-load hours will be remunerated for a parabolic trough power plant with 9-hour thermal storage capacity. International studies have also announced the continuous rise of solar-thermal power plants.

5 February 2011Last updated at 18:55 David Cameron said Britain had encouraged different cultures to live separate lives David Cameron has criticised "state multiculturalism" in his first speech as prime minister on radicalisation and the causes of terrorism. At a security conference in Munich, he argued the UK needed a stronger national identity to prevent people turning to all kinds of extremism. He also signalled a tougher stance on groups promoting Islamist extremism. The speech angered some Muslim groups, while others queried its timing amid an English Defence League rally in the UK. As Mr Cameron outlined his vision, he suggested there would be greater scrutiny of some Muslim groups which get public money but do little to tackle extremism. Ministers should refuse to share platforms or engage with such groups, which should be denied access to public funds and barred from spreading their message in universities and prisons, he argued. Popular Twitter 'influencers' have little influence: study
The word 'influencer' is thrown around a lot today but when you get right down to it, there's still a lot of debate about influence online and who influencers are. Can marketers harness influence through social media to further their campaigns? Can marketers even identify influencers? While these are very valid questions, many simply make assumptions about what influence is and who has it. As The Telegraph reported: Scientists at Northwestern University, Illinois, used specialised mathematical algorithms to rank the most influential people “tweeting”, on the hot topic of the day. What did they find? Translation: it's all about context. While many acknowledge that metrics such as follower count are mediocre at best, we're still frequently sold on the notion that influencers are easily identified. Hyper-Social Organizations
This is a review of the new book by Francois Gossieaux and Ed Moran called The Hyper-Social Organization; Eclipse Your Competition By Leveraging Social Media. This is not a technology book, but rather a good explanation of how consumers are changing due to prevalence of social technology, and what companies should do in order to thrive. Before reading this book, you should already have read “groundswell” and “empowered“, two books that cover the idea that social media will transform the way that customers communicate with companies. Gossieaux and Moran take this a step further and teach how one might leverage this throughout the organization. We all will have to learn this eventually. The book starts with a simple explanation: “Human 1.0″ is the way that people have interacted and worked together for thousands of years.
