10 Best Home Organization Blogs Confession time. I am not the neatest, tidiest person. This fault of mine has bothered those closest to me my entire life, from my mother, to my saintly sweet college roommate, and now my husband. Their cry has always been the same, “Brittney, you have too much stuff and nowhere to put it!” So, I started reading some home organizing blogs years ago. Faster Than an SSD: How to Turn Extra Memory Into a RAM Disk Whether you have a hard drive or an SSD, your computer’s RAM is its fastest storage medium by a wide margin. If you have more than 4GB of memory, you can turn this speed to your advantage, turning some of it into a small RAM Disk. This disk will appear to Windows as a fully-functional storage drive that’s ready to hold your most frequently-used applications and launch them as much as twice as fast. What You Need 6 or More GB of RAM:While you can use a RAM disk with any amount of memory in your system, we don’t recommend that you create one if you have 4GB or less. Whatever amount of memory you assign to the disk will be unavailable to the OS and, since 4GB is the minimum standard these days, you really need 6GB or more to have both a RAM disk and a reasonable amount of system memory available.Fortunately, if your computer takes DDR3 RAM — the standard type for more then 4 years — upgrading will be very inexpensive.

The 5 Best Organizing Websites To Help The Perpetually Messy Some of us were born with the "organized" gene. These lucky souls swan through life with perfect closets, pristine desks and spotless cars with nary a wad of Starbucks napkins tucked in an unexpected pocket. They might be robots. The rest of us stumble around in a disorganized haze, thinking of the pile of books on the desk as an irrelevant task that will be tackled "someday." It’s actually quite fun – here’s how we do it.We’re not allowed to spend any money on anything, no matter what. In other words, we can’t make a run to the store to buy food, we can’t spend money on any sort of entertainment, and so on. Since we often do our grocery shopping on Saturdays, on a “money-free” weekend, we delay it to Monday or Tuesday. We can use our utilities, but no extra expenses on these utilities. No renting movies on cable, no text messages that aren’t already covered by our cell phone plan, and so on.
How to Organize Evernote for Maximum Efficiency Please note: The way I organize Evernote today is completely different than what I wrote here. You can find my updated methodology here. I have been using Evernote for months. However, I have not really taken time to explore the depth of this incredible program until just recently. I have mainly just used it for a place to store meeting notes and an occasional web clipping. Photo courtesy of ©iStockphoto.com/STEVECOLEccs
