Grow a Garden with Healing Herbs and Plants - Grow Imagine for a moment the processes that take place in our bodies as soon as we encounter even a tiny breach of the skin. A miniscule scrape draws a little blood, fends off infection and eventually heals over, involving so many processes and encapsulating so many minor miracles—none of them conscious, willed or even noticed—that the mind simply boggles. Now imagine these processes on a scale much larger and more complex: wounds, burns, sore throats, fevers, queasy stomachs. How about the amazing fact that much of what you need to promote these processes is available in the plant world, and that you can grow these plants and turn them into not just good food, but good medicine, for pennies and without side effects? This article isn’t intended to take the place of medical advice, but for many routine physical complaints, the garden can provide much relief. YouBeauty - The Science of a Beautiful You The Natural Order of Things “Bless a thing and it will bless you. Curse it and it will curse you…if you bless a situation, it has no power to hurt you, and even if it is troublesome for a time, it will gradually fade out, if you sincerely bless it.” —EMMET FOX “Power Through Constructive Thinking” Nothing stops nature from evolving. Flowers bloom in April. Trees shed their leaves in late October. It snowed Easter Sunday in 1997 in Philadelphia, but the tulips kept right on blooming. Change is necessary. If we could restrain from resisting change, instead surrender to it, we could live a much more joyful life. We don’t seem to have a problem accepting change that feels good. Nature does not resist change. Unlike nature, we can choose to accept or reject the natural order of things. Accepting change is giving in to what is meant to be right now in our lives: our financial situation, our jobs, our relationships. When faced with change of any kind, bless it and it will bless you.

Experimental Permaculture Workshop A 9-day intensive workshop at Solitued Farm Auroville “…a dream of returning to nature , here there is nothing much be done, no effort is required, not even courage.” Masanobu Fukuoka. Solitude is a 6-acre sustainable farming community specializing in natural farming and permaculture methods. We grow a variety of indigenous millets, rice, pulses oil seeds as well as a wide diversity of fruits and vegetables. We build most of our own buildings using natural materials and use solar energy, compost toilets and wind power. We have been deeply inspired by Masanobu Fukuoka and his vision of a true road back to nature, growing the food we need in a simple and harmonious way. Permaculture is about understanding relationships: These workshops aim at a dynamic, integrated hands- on experience, covering diverse activities that are part of our daily life here at Solitude farm. • The core of the workshop will be the application of Permaculture and Natural farming techniques (hands-on in the fields!)
