grasshopper code . a collection of codes & grammars for Grasshopper, a generative modeling tool for Rhinoceros. 3D Hilbert Curve This definition generates a 3D Hilbert Curve, a continuous fractal space-filling curve. 3D_Hilbert_Curve_Co-de-iT_1.0007.zip nGon mesh tessellation Starting from a closed surface it builds a nGon mesh tessellation nGon_tessellation_Co-de-iT_1.0007.zip Curves Sorter Starting from a list of curves it takes the first one then it looks for the closest curve and it eventually flips the direction to optimize the toolpath lenght. Curves_Sorter_Co-de-iT_1.0007.zip froGH A sparse collection of tools for Grasshopper. See the code, explanation and download here. Clusterizer This definition groups indexes of connected points into separate clusters. Clusterizer_Co-de-iT_0.9.0076.zip Spirograph This definition simulates a spirograph tool.

Has Friedman become, through no fault of his own, an icon for fakers, architects who reek of cheap – and lazy – political aesthetics?

Bifurcating Ecologies / Kenneth To – Wendy W Fok Bifurcating Ecologies, designed by Kenneth To (under Design Advisor, Wendy W Fok, and Project Team, Dave Cheung, Marco Chan), is a developmental master planning proposal which traces through humanizing the accessibility of the Hong Kong Wanchai District Waterfront through proposing new branching open landscapes and bifurcation of programs, which introduces new innovative topological energy creation that regenerates and reconnects the community. More images and project description after the break. Acting as an intermediary “connector” and “infiltrator” within four main strands of intertwined organization, between levels of: ecology, pedestrian, vehicular, and infrastructure, Bifurcating Ecologies challenges the visceral and abundantly urbanized Hong Kong waterfront that feeds itself through both land and water. Bifurcating Ecologies is composed of modular straps in an urban scale.

Shearers Quarters - House - Projects - John Wardle Architects This beguiling shearers quarters sits as a companion building to an existing historic cottage on a working sheep farm. Located on the site of the old shearing shed that was destroyed by fire, the residence houses shearers, and family and friends on annual tree planting weekends and retreats. The plan form transforms along its length to shift the profile of a slender skillion at the western end to a broad gable at the east. The geometry of this shift is carried through to the layout of internal walls, lining boards and window frames. A singular palette of materials is used with corrugated galvanised iron to the exterior, and timber internally. Inside is a large open living/dining/kitchen area, bathroom and laundry, two bedrooms and a bunkroom. The primary internal lining is Pinus Macrocarpa sourced from many different suppliers principally as individual trees from old rural windbreaks.
