A Natural Cure for the Common Cold

A Natural Cure for the Common Cold
March 4, 2011 The last few weeks it seems everyone has been hit with the horrible late-winter cold from hell: wheezing cough, runny nose and an aching body. After giving up on cough drops and sinus meds, I emailed my aunt, who is the director of Healing Hands Wellness Group. She insisted I try this simple DIY detox bath, and man was it effective: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Within 5 minutes of soaking in the tub, my body felt like it had turned into a faucet.

Purples and Pinks Sometimes a black or grey smoky eye just looks too drab and can easily be overdone. Subtle ShimmerI swear, I think glitter is just in my DNA. What do you think?

I am Style-ish: Glitter... Everything! Ever since I made my glitter clutch, I've been looking around at everything that we have around the house that I can glitter. I told you I had a lot of glitter projects to share, I finally gathered them together to photograph! First up are these little tea light holders that were totally boring on their own... I put together a mixture of Mod Podge and glitter (same as the glitter clutch) but this time I dumped the mixture in the candleholder, swirled it around until it covered every area and then let it dry upside down for a day. Now, they are adorable and I keep one in the bathroom to hold my bobby pins which has made my life so much easier when doing my hair! *A note on the tea light holders, you can still use tea lights in them even with the glitter, just get the battery operated ones. I buy a ton of candles and always try to keep the jars once they are done being candles because they are great storage holders (I use a few to hold my makeup brushes).

How to Make Magnesium Oil to Improve Sleep and Reduce Stress I’ve written before about how I use magnesium daily and why I feel it is such a vital part of overall wellness . Many people are deficient in this vital mineral that the body uses for hundreds of reactions. Every cell in the body needs magnesium in some way, and it is vital for bone, tooth, muscle and joint health as well as for optimal sleep and stress reduction. Deficiency of magnesium is widespread because many of us have lifestyle factors that actively deplete magnesium such as lack of sleep, excess stress, or alcohol/caffeine/sugar consumption. On top of that, many natural sources of magnesium are becoming depleted (such as the soil due to over-farming and high pesticide use) and water filtration systems remove much of the naturally occurring magnesium in water. I take magnesium internally and use it on my skin daily in the form of magnesium oil . What you need: What to do: Boil the distilled water. Stir well until completely dissolved. To Use: Spray on arms, legs and stomach daily.

We need to rectify this wasteful and eco-nomically expensive practice. The current popular solution to the problem is recycling. Soak for about 10 minutes (shorter for berries – about 2 – 5 minutes). Rinse well. The Result: Clean. And how did I know they were clean? The water was dirty, and the apples had that white sheen left on them after the wax has dissolved off. Clean.

Life With 4 Boys: 4 Pin-Up Girl Hair Tutorials for Medium to Short Hair I love "old" hair. No, not the hair that you find in the bottom of your shower drain that has been there for months, I mean hair right out of a pin-up girl calendar. Beautiful hairstyles with a vintage flair. I think these styles work especially well for fall when you won't mind the hair being down on your neck or across your forehead. that work. This hairstyle is adorable and looks pretty simple. 2. This is a little more advanced than the tutorial above, but I love the look and if I can pull it of with my hair being a little longer than hers, I think it will look fabulous! 3. I love the look of victory rolls and if I had known they were so easy to do, I would have tried them out a long time ago. 4. This one would be easier for someone with medium to short hair that is at least below the ears. Kathleen Bunn

The Graphics Fairy - Crafts: How to Find the Original Source of an Image on Pinterest This is a neat little trick that my son taught me. I'm sure some of you probably already know about this, but in case you didn't I think you will find it to be super handy, particularly if you are a Pinterest user! More than a few times, I've clicked on a Pinterest Pin, in order to find the instructions to an awesome Craft Tutorial, only to find that the Pin went somewhere other than the original source. If that happens to you, this is how you can find it. Step 1: Save the image that you want to find to your computer. Update: Apparently you don't have to save the image to your computer, you can just drag and drop, by having both windows open at the same time. Step 2: Go to Google and Click on "Images". Step 3: Open the Folder where you have stored the image that you want to find. Step 4: Drag the photo just under the Google Search Box. Step 5: Google will perform a search for the image. Easy Peasy!

But then there are those days when my liner refuses to go on straight, my bronzer makes me look like an Asian Snookie, or my lashes refuse to curl.
