Warning: do not attempt to view, make or devour this recipe if you do not like chocolate. A lot of chocolate. Copious amounts of deep, dark chocolate. Including a buttery chocolate crust topped with a luscious, creamy, rich cheesecake layer, topped again with a silky, dreamy dark chocolate ganache and topped finally with whimsical chocolate curls. Death by chocolate. And what a way to go. The Baker's Daughter: Polka dot cheesecake I saw someone wearing the greatest polka dot rain coat today and it inspired me to make this cheesecake. It needs to be refrigerated overnight so make sure you make it the day before you want to serve it. I find that popping it into the freezer for about 1/2 hour makes it a lot easier to cut. Using a knife dipped in hot water between cuts also helps to make clean edges. If you want to make this into a traditional cheesecake you will need an 8 inch spring form pan. Crust 1 cup Graham crumbs 2 tbsp sugar ¼ cup melted butter Filling 16 oz softened cream cheese ½ cup sugar 2 eggs 2 oz dark chocolate, melted 1 tsp vanilla 2/3 cup sour cream Directions Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Grease a 7 X 7 inch square pan and line it with parchment paper. In a small bowl, mix together the graham crumbs, sugar, cocoa, and melted butter and press into the pan. Beat cream cheese until smooth. Pour the plain batter into the pan, smoothing out to the edges. Place in the oven and bake for 1 hour.

Nutella Cinnamon Rolls May 10, 2011 | Print | E-mail | Filed under bread, nutella There are some days that I just lose my appetite. It might be because of my mood, or that nothing sounds good, or that I’m in a food rut again and need to spice things up a bit. When my appetite comes back though, what I’m inevitably craving is some sort of comfort food. Yesterday happened to be one of those days, and by the end of the day all I could think about was a warm cinnamon roll fresh from the oven. Fortunately, over the weekend I whipped up a batch of my go-to recipe…only this time, I halved the recipe so that I’d only get 3 pans of rolls instead of 6. 2 cups whole milk1/2 cup vegetable oil1/2 cup sugar2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast5 1/2 cups flour, divided1/2 tsp baking powder1/2 tsp baking soda1/2 tsp salt1 stick butter1/2 cup nutellaCinnamon For the glaze (for three 8″ pans of rolls): 3 cups powdered sugar6 Tbsp milk In a large pot, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and sugar. No Bake Nutella Cheesecakes If you happened to catch my post on How To Skin Hazelnuts, you may remember me saying that I have reawakened my obsession with Nutella. You may also recall me stating that my pantry was in absolute disarray from the holidays. When I finally reorganized it, I happened upon a brand new jar of Nutella that had fallen behind my baking drawer – jackpot! This little find rekindled my love affair with all things Nutella in a big way. Brian had invited friends over for a football game coupled with grilled cheese sandwiches and chili. Oreo cookie crumbs create the foundation for a creamy, fluffy Nutella and cream cheese mixture that you’ll want to eat with a spoon straight from the mixing bowl with reckless abandon. Daisy Cottage: Tortellini Salad My mother and father-in-law are coming for a weekend visit and I thought this Herb Chicken Tortellini Salad would be nice to have. I've made this before and I think it is really delicious. You can find the recipe here although I changed things up a bit. I use black olives and only a 1/2 cup of Caesar salad dressing. I also don't use the whole bag of spinach.. I just tear up little pieces of it and add to taste. This salad is wonderful with a loaf of fresh bread and a glass of wine. My New Best Pizza Dough As you must have noticed by now, we love pizza here! It’s okay to be a pizza fiend. No, really, it is. It’s by far our favorite junk food Friday meal. I’ve tried lots of recipes over the years. What was even more depressing were all those times I couldn’t get the dough to rise no matter what I tried. Now, if you need me… I’ll be on the Stairmaster. Ingredients: 1 cup warm water 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 2 tsp instant yeast 2 tbsp honey 3 tbsp olive oil 1 1/2 tsp salt (2 tsp also works well) Directions: We’ll be needing yeast—I opted for instant yeast but feel free to use active dry yeast—salt and olive oil. You can either use your stand-mixer, food processor or hands for this. Add 2 tbsp honey. And add 1 cup warm water to it. I let the machine spin to combine it all. Add the oil and 1 cup of flour. The best pizza flour is, by far, Molino Caputo. I took it out of the machine and kneaded it with my hands for a few minutes as well. Lightly oil a big bowl. Fast forward to 2 hours later.

The Hazel Bloom: The Best Macaroni and Cheese Recipe Ever I can say this is the best macaroni and cheese recipe ever because it's not really my recipe. I tweaked it a tiny bit - basically made it even more fattening - but otherwise, it's someone else's. It's from someone named Bev, who posted her recipe on Recipezaar and to whom I am eternally grateful. See, macaroni and cheese is pretty much my all-time favorite food. Always has been. Cases in point: One of my first-ever memories is of sitting down in front of the TV with a bowl full of macaroni and cheese and watching Emergency! I should probably stop there. So back to Bev. Bev is probably totally creeped out now too. I'm a total freakfest today. Oh - and this recipe is great with many noodles other than macaroni (like penne, yum!) Okay, I'm shutting up now. (Conchiglie pasta - this organic Montebello stuff is out of this world:) Here's the recipe! Adapted from the Bev's Macaroni and Cheese recipe on Recipezaar Serves 5 - 6 Ingredients 8 oz. to 10 oz. macaroni or other pasta (like conchiglie!)
