Scotch Eggs | Saw this recipe online awhile back and was intrigued. Could there truly be something on the Scottish menu that isn’t deep fried or boiled in a sheep’s stomach? I can hear my little Scottish daddy laughing this very minute–because he didn’t think so. No. Bulk sausage Eggs Bread Crumbs Now, if you’re like me, you likely need a bit more flavor than boring old bread crumbs offer. I had garlic crouton in the cupboard so we used them instead. Hard boil the eggs. Wrap a thin layer of sausage around each of the hard boiled eggs. Now, roll them in the bread crumbs. Aren’t they cute? I thought maybe sausage gravy would be stupendous with these babies, but alas, we couldn’t wait. Now go forth… and make us proud. Happy St.Andrew’s Day! The social calendar is quickly filling up with parties and other cookie-appropriate gatherings. Your kitchen is probably covered in a fine layer of powdered sugar by this point. I’m the first to admit that I’m a chocolate snob. This recipe was adapted (ever so slightly) from one created by the lovely Heidi of 101Cookbooks fame. I can’t stand a “healthy” dessert that tastes like a “healthy” dessert. Like most of Heidi’s recipes, these are endlessly adaptable. Keeping these cookies small in size helps them pack a big flavor punch in a tiny little package. Better Than Takeout Orange Chicken - StumbleUpon Yesterday as I stood in the kitchen trying to figure out what to make for dinner I wondered to myself, how do those people do it on those shows where they are given random ingredients and are suppose come up with something genius. I think I stood there for a solid 20 minutes looking in the cupboards and staring into the freezer hoping that I would be struck by some ingenious idea. Then I saw the oranges, and it hit me “O-raang Shh-ikun”….that is orange chicken if you can’t understand the accent. I love orange chicken, and I almost always order # 14 Orange Chicken when we order Chinese take out and I wondered to myself if I could make it better at home. This recipe most definitely delivered! Ha ha Chinese food…delivered….get it? The sauce is sweet, tangy, there is no lack in orange flavor, and the red pepper flakes give it just a touch of heat. Combine corn starch, salt, and pepper. As you finish each batch, drain cooked chicken in a paper towel lined plate. Ingredients Chicken Orange Sauce
The Angry Chef's Garlicky Lemon-Pepper Chicken A lot of folks have asked me for this recipe. It’s one of The Angry Chef’s signature dishes, and I was lucky to pry it away from him. This recipe is a dream come true for garlic lovers like me. It’s tart and garlick-y and oh-so-fragrant in all the right ways. (As a bonus, you’ll surely be safe from vampires for the evening.) The instructions below are one part recipe, one part technique. Basically, the chicken breast is dredged in flour, then shallow fried in a bath of bubbling golden olive oil. Lemon juice, powdered peel, and fresh zest provide a triple dose of bright citrus flavor right near the end of cooking. Enjoy this chicken with any sort of hot, spicy rice (I have yet to get the recipe for the Demon Saffron Rice that he made around Halloween), some warm, buttered noodles, or grilled asparagus sprinkled with Parmesan. The Angry Chef’s Garlicky Lemon-Pepper Chicken: A note on ingredients The Angry Chef’s Garlicky Lemon-Pepper Chicken Serves 6-8 as a main course. Grab your chicken.

The Brownie That Will Change Your Life - StumbleUpon Let me start off by saying that viewer discretion is advised for today’s post. OK now with the story that preludes possibly the greatest brownie I have ever sunk my teeth in thus far in my life. Last Saturday Mrs. Zesty had a baby shower to attend and she was designated for a dessert/sweet treat for the girls. Last week was a bit of a zoo and I think I forgot about prepping this dessert until Friday afternoon at work. I knew time was tight and I didn’t want to spend all night Friday night to prep a dessert. This recipe, I cannot take any credit for and nor will I try as it is compliments of Nestle Toll House and as you can see from the reviews…. Ingredients 1 pkg.
