Universal Terrain™: Portable Power Generator 25-28mm War Game Scenery Getting power to a remote location such as a temporary battlefield command post or an isolated research colony can be challenging. This portable power generator is designed to be airlifted into such sites. Sturdy harness rings are located at the four corners of the top of the unit to allow it to be airlifted. The unit control panel is located at one end, next to the warning sign stating "Danger High Power Area". Power cables can be connected at the opposite end as needed. The portable generator can be used in all manners of game settings and makes a perfect terrain objective piece in science fiction war gaming including Warhammer 40K™.

Being a fan of sci-fi, and wanting to expand my own reading list, I thought it would be helpful to tally the results and preserve them here for future reference. I've also included selected quotes from the comments, as well as my own notes on the books I've already read. Having been watching some of both lately, I think I've come around to the opinion that I first read from Abigail Nussbaum- that while BSG is more unrelentingly grim, and the lights are lower and the characters drink and screw and wallow more (all of which makes for terrific television, don't get me wrong) DS9 's political fiction surrounding war was much more fully realized, less dependent on jamming headline news into contexts where it didn't necessarily belong, and was on the whole, much graver. BSG also was cheated a bit by being an "after the fall" tale, which is always something of trade between the immediate uptick in stakes you gain from Fighting for the Species(tm) versus the whole category of "on the raggedy edge" stories that can't be told because the die has already been cast.
