And if an educator can’t find an app that does exactly what he or she wants, the logical next step is to develop and publish their own. Besides, what else do they have to do with all the free time with which all educators are blessed? Now that you’ve finished laughing, let’s take a realistic look at how an educator can best go about publishing an app. And the process of actually publishing the app is a whole ‘nother ball game altogether. For those who lack the time, knowledge, or incentive to write their own code, there are any number of app publishing resources available. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Endless Reader Maths Everywhere – the concept behind the app The eighth in a series of guest blogs from Catherine Langstreth, a lecturer from Bolton College, sharing her thoughts on ways to engage, motivate and inspire all learners and develop maths and English skills through embedded learning. England has a lack of adults who have achieved Level 2 in their English and maths. A major study by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has revealed that England is 22nd for literacy and 21st for numeracy out of 24 countries. There are 8.5 million adults in England and Northern Ireland with the numeracy levels of a 10-year-old, the equivalent skill level to that of Entry Level 3. Our Maths Everywhere app is designed to tackle this problem. Learning is all around us! Learning’s not restricted by age either – as the saying goes, ‘you’re never too old to learn’. Work-based learning has grown in popularity in recent years. Our app has three levels, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.
