His self-portraits are all incredibly unique and after viewing them you're left wondering where he's going to take you next. What I enjoy most is that you can almost feel his passion come through. I got in touch with Alex to ask him a few questions, including how his style evolved while taking on the 365 project. What have you learned from your 365 project? Your photos are all beautifully artistic. I see that you're friends with Rosie Hardy. How has Flickr helped you develop your style? Are there any quotes you live by? Thanks for the interview, Alex. How to: Pigments in Acrylics Acrylic is an appealing medium because of its versatility. When it is watered down, acrylic paint can become thin and watery like watercolors. Acrylic paint can also be applied thickly, mimicking the appearance of oil paints. Additionally, there are several different acrylic mediums, gels and pastes that artists can add to the paint to alter the texture, sheen, consistency, and various other characteristics of the acrylic paint. This versatility allows for a wide range of expressive techniques that captivate both artists and viewers of the artwork. The versatility of acrylic paint allows it to mimic the very different qualities of both watercolors and oil paints. What is Acrylic? Acrylic paint consists of pigment suspended in a binder of acrylic polymer emulsion. Acrylics are sold in tubes or jars. You can make acrylic paints by mixing pure powdered pigment with a binder and a solvent. Mixing Paints The paints on the palette need to be kept moist in order to remain workable. Underpainting

Photographer Turns his 91-Year Old Grandma into a Superhero to Cheer Her Up A few years ago photographer Sacha Goldberger found his 91-year-old Hungarian grandmother Frederika feeling lonely and depressed. So to cheer her up, and put a spark back into her life, he turned her into a superhero! He took a series of awesome photographs of her wearing costumes in unusual superhero type posses. "Grandma reluctantly agreed, but once they got rolling, she couldn't stop smiling." Frederika isn't only a superhero in these photos, but she was a real hero during World War II. Frederika was born in Budapest 20 years before World War II. These photos are great, and they definitely put a smile on my face.

Photograpy: Life Before Your Eyes – Pictory As Rob Gardiner mentioned, it’s not easy to share these kinds of stories with the world.Rob and three others react to the publication of the their most intimate photos. “I had never written that story down before, and while I left a lot of it unsaid, it kind of helped me to get it out. So I am happy enough to have it published.” “Having my photo story accepted into this showcase feels nerve-wracking and validating at the same time. “I didn’t think about taking the picture, I didn’t think I’d ever show it to anyone. “I like to put on a brave face so the thought of countless people seeing a very personal image of me, in pain and grieving, made me feel terribly vulnerable at first.
