The Things We Already Know We know the answers to many of the questions we ask ourselves, whether we admit it or not. We deny the answers for many reasons. They make us uncomfortable. They require action. Most of us know that: If you want to get more writing done, you should write more. The only way to write a book is to write the book. If you want to know anything, question everything. If you want to feel better, do the things that will make you feel better. If you want to stand out, don’t do what everyone else is doing. If you want to be stronger, then do things that will make you strong. If you want to be patient, practice patience. If you want people to get to know you better, you need to make sure that you’re worth knowing. If you want friends, be friendly. If you want to press a heavier kettlebell, put down the baby one. If you want to watch less TV, turn off the TV. If you want to lose weight, it’s best not to live in America, but it’s also possible to eat fewer hot dogs and move more. Josh ShareThis

If you can stick with a goal for long enough, you’ll almost always get there eventually. It just takes patience, and motivation. Motivation is the key, but it’s not always easy, day in and day out, to find that motivation. What follows is a guide to motivation using what I’ve learned over the last few years in a series of successful accomplishments, goals and habit changes. What Motivation Can Achieve What have I accomplished using these motivation methods? That’s not intended to sound like bragging, but to show you what can be accomplished (just to start) if you find the right motivation. How Does Motivation Work? So motivation, in its best form, is a way for you to want to do something.

"The egg" You were on your way home when you died. It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. And that’s when you met me. “What… what happened?” “You died,” I said, matter-of-factly. “There was a… a truck and it was skidding…” “Yup,” I said. “I… I died?” “Yup. You looked around. “More or less,” I said. “Are you god?” “Yup,” I replied. “My kids… my wife,” you said. “What about them?” “Will they be all right?” “That’s what I like to see,” I said. You looked at me with fascination. “Don’t worry,” I said. “Oh,” you said. “Neither,” I said. “Ah,” you said. “All religions are right in their own way,” I said. You followed along as we strode through the void. “Nowhere in particular,” I said. “So what’s the point, then?” “Not so!” I stopped walking and took you by the shoulders. “You’ve been in a human for the last 48 years, so you haven’t stretched out yet and felt the rest of your immense consciousness. “How many times have I been reincarnated, then?” “Oh lots. “Wait, what?”

38 Life Lessons I've Learned in 38 Years | zen habits Vitsœ | Good design Back in the early 1980s, Dieter Rams was becoming increasingly concerned by the state of the world around him – “an impenetrable confusion of forms, colours and noises.” Aware that he was a significant contributor to that world, he asked himself an important question: is my design good design? As good design cannot be measured in a finite way he set about expressing the ten most important principles for what he considered was good design. (Sometimes they are referred as the ‘Ten commandments’.) Here they are. Good design is innovative The possibilities for innovation are not, by any means, exhausted. Good design makes a product useful A product is bought to be used. Good design is aesthetic The aesthetic quality of a product is integral to its usefulness because products we use every day affect our person and our well-being. Good design makes a product understandable It clarifies the product’s structure. Good design is unobtrusive Products fulfilling a purpose are like tools.

Storage Strategy for Creating Building Subliminal Recordings One of the primary aspects of building a subliminal or related audio recording type involves managing each of the components. Message scripts, masking sound clips, brainwave tracks and intermediate audio tracks should be organized and stored in an efficient manner. Adopting a useful storage strategy makes it simpler to access and review any existing recording component. This is especially important when attempting to reuse existing elements for a new and different recording project. Any reasonable and effective strategy can be used for storing the components of the recordings. And it’s never too late to put yourself first and live life on your terms. Make yourself a priority in life Set both big and small goals for yourselfActually stick to your goals! Your turn: What awesome tips would you add to this list? Shower Twice A Day by Josh So a couple of weeks ago I posed the question asking when (or if) you showered. The response was absolutely stellar with over 130 responses. So huge thanks for that. Here are the results: 54% of you shower in the morning 24% of you shower in both the morning and evening 22% of you shower only in the evening Now for my answer. I shower twice a day. I didn’t start showering in the evening until I wrote the first post about this, but I’ve been doing it since then and can’t believe I hadn’t started sooner. It perviously took me 30 minutes to an hour to go to sleep every single night for as long as I can remember. Like others who shower at night, I find it helps totally relax me. So my suggestion?

47 Mind-Blowing Psychological Facts You Should Know About Yourself I’ve decided to start a series called 100 Things You Should Know about People. As in: 100 things you should know if you are going to design an effective and persuasive website, web application or software application. Or maybe just 100 things that everyone should know about humans! The order that I’ll present these 100 things is going to be pretty random. So the fact that this first one is first doesn’t mean that’s it’s the most important.. just that it came to mind first. Dr. The Courage to Live Consciously by Steve Pavlina Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable. - Helen Keller In our day-to-day lives, the virtue of courage doesn't receive much attention. But a side effect of overemphasizing the importance of personal security in your life is that it can cause you to live reactively. No doubt there exist real dangers in life you must avoid. How many of these fears are holding you back? Have you previously convinced yourself that you aren't really afraid of anything... that there are always good and logical reasons why you don't do certain things? What Is Courage? Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear. - Ambrose Redmoon Everyone has talent.
