Crochet A Purse Out Of Pop Tabs Wire Bracelet - Knit A Simple Wire Bracelet Heavy Metal: Knitting with wire is similar to knitting with yarn, but at the same time it's completely different. The technique is the same, but the wire is harder to work with, meaning you'll progress a lot more slowly than if you were knitting the same project with yarn. Knit stitches also look different when worked in wire rather than fiber, but there's still something about those loops that's unmistakably knit. If you've never knit with wire before, this is a good first project because it's pretty easy, gives you lots of practice and is relatively forgiving. Materials: a spool of 24 yards of 28-gauge artistic wire (you'll use about half), silver or color of your choice one pair size 4 US knitting needles 15 or more beads, depending on how you design your bracelet (any style will work, I used square, flat beads) heavy-duty scissors or wire cutters a toggle clasp or other closure (optional) Size Instructions: Continuing the Pattern: Finishing the Bracelet: Make it Your Own:

Knit A Wire & Pearl Cuff - Cocoknits A few years ago I saw a fabulous wire and pearl bracelet at the jewelry store Viva! in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (sadly out of business now). I picked up some sterling wire and freshwater pearls at the bead store down the street (La Piedra) and started messing around. Even on tiny needles I could never get the stitches even and tidy, so over time I used bigger and bigger needles and the cuffs were ever chunkier and more organic looking. I’ve decided that the bigger and sloppier the stitches, the more interesting the finished product looks! And it’s fun to pick up galvanized wire from the hardware store and mix it with lovely pearls to give as gifts… a great conversation piece. The directions are really just a guideline… have fun experimenting with different types of wire, needle size and beads and see what you come up with! Skills Needed General knitting knowledge. Size Custom (see directions for sizing). Materials Wire Notions Freshwater pearls, between 15 and 25 for each cuff. Needles Gauge

Knitting & Crocheting With Wire Knitting and Crocheting with wire brings a whole new dimension to your work - quite literally! It means that you can make not only interesting household items like napkin rings, baskets, tea-light covers and even lampshades (really!) but you can also produce some lovely pieces of jewelry. Wire can be readily bought from craft stores and online. It is best to use ‘craft’ or coated copper wires, or if you’re feeling a bit flush then there’s always the option for pure silver or even gold! What Knitting Needles and Crochet Hooks to Use? When working with wire you don’t need any special equipment, although I would suggest not using your brand new bamboo needles or hooks! One of the key differences between wire and yarn is the fact that wire has no ‘give’ and therefore it is best not to work too tightly. How to buy wireWhen buying wire, where possible buy spools or reels rather than coils. Thinner wires are the easiest to work with. The table below gives the AWG and the metric equivalent. AWG mm
