Have you ever bought products on Social Media
Thousands of you have built polls to learn from and interact with the world, and I want to thank you now for your patronage, your feedback, and all the excitement that you have brought to my life. I owe you an explanation, so here it is: We’re not out of money, and we’re not out of passion—on the contrary, this journey has ended so that another one can begin. In July of 2012, I started building a new application with three other gentlemen, with the hopes of bringing a new level of simplicity, elegance, and usability to business-based education and training. I wanted to take everything I’d learned at Quipol about dead-simple workflows and ease-of-use and bring it to a market filled with products where the opposite was the rule. The result is a product called Lesson.ly, and it’s working. Again, thank you. —Max Founder at Quipol Co-founder at Lesson.ly

Do you have Nomophobia? « Onlime I just heard the expression nomophobia, which is an abbreviation for no-mobile-phone-phobia. It may sound silly but almost everyone relies heavily on their mobile phone all day. If we aren’t calling or texting we are using our phones to catch up on oh so ‘important’ emails, posting ‘tweets’ and filling up lonely public transport time by playing on angry birds. How often do we use our phone for actual genuine emergencies? Sure, they are good for that but nomophobia isn’t about being fearful that we might get stuck somewhere miles from anyone with no means of communication. And it’s not just how and why we use our phones but far more importantly what we have stored on our phones. I had my phone stolen a couple of years ago and serious panic set in. How do you feel about your Mobile Phone? Like this: Like Loading...

KnowEm Username Check - Secure your Brand or Online Identity on Social Media Wikipedia Goes Black in Protest of SOPA As announced, Wikipedia's main page is "blackened" today in protest of the controversial Stop online privacy act (SOPA). "For over a decade, we have spent millions of hours building the largest encyclopedia in human history. Right now, the U.S. Congress is considering legislation that could fatally damage the free and open Internet. For 24 hours, to raise awareness, we are blacking out Wikipedia," says the message on the page. The actual articles on Wikipedia are actually accessible for a short period of time, after which they redirect the visitor to the blackened main page. For millions of Wikipedia visitors today, the message will be clear: one of the most influential sites and communities on the internet is clearly against SOPA.

Why Richard Branson Always Makes Time for Social Media Sir Richard Branson has never been slow to transition his business. What started as a bootstrapped mail-order record retailer that he founded in 1970 is now an empire of more than 300 companies in 30 countries that span diverse industries such as music, travel, health and beyond. Well before commercial space travel is economically viable, Virgin Galactic is already selling $200,000 tickets to space. So, too, has Branson been quick to transition to the social web with a personal style. Where most corporate blogs still house formal announcements, the Virgin Group website hosts a blog written with Branson's first-person flair. Many of them read like diary entries. "I spent a wonderfully productive weekend with Ted Turner on his spectacularly unspoilt ranch in Montana," begins one blog entry. Branson's Twitter, Facebook and Google+ profiles are all equally personal and active. Few executives (or billionaires, or knights) are so candid in their public communications. Be authentic and organic.

In Social Media, Your Return Represents Your Investment Brian Solis inShare896 Sometimes the path of least resistance unwinds into a far more complicated and arduous journey than we anticipated. In times of change, taking the path less traveled, although initially daunting, proves easier and far more rewarding in the long run. Such is true for social media. I read a review about Engage once that read, “Brian Solis takes the fun out of social media.” The author’s point was that the book took an academic approach when the industry could benefit from a simplified focus on best practices, case studies, and actionable takeaways. Shortly thereafter, I participated in a day-long event at a leading global consumer brand. Between the review, others like it and that on-stage remark, I was starting to think that maybe I was beating the wrong drum. The truth is that the customer gap existed prior to social media and successfully closing it takes more than basic conversational or content-driven strategies in Twitter, Facebook and other social networks. 1. - Tweeting

Join the Twitter plus 0 challenge Twitter plus 0 challenge!!! I don’t know about you but I really love using twitter and I use it for learning about Social Media, listening to the pro’s, sharing links and cool stuff, building a network and sometimes promoting my own stuff too. It is a brilliant tool for conversation, customer service, marketing and PR for all businesses. I believe strongly in the ability of Twitter to grow businesses for many reasons but here are just a few examples of why: Dell sold $3,000,000 worth of computers on Twitter Tweets for a Cause sent out a tweet from Atlanta to encourage support of Susan G. So now we have a starting point and a goal how will we get there? I will also add to that by tweeting other tips along the way using #twitterplus0. This week we are going to start with some easy ones: Use Hastags. Good luck!

10 Cool Facebook Status Tips and Tricks Technology - Facebook looks to boost advertising profile Facebook’s chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, will make a rare on-stage appearance before the world’s advertising community this week as the social network strives to generate revenues that match its huge reach. Mr Zuckerberg, who is usually more at home among software developers than ad men, will receive the “media person of the year” award at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival on Wednesday, after being interviewed in front of its audience of agency bosses and marketing chiefs. This year’s Cannes Lions, historically an opportunity for ad creatives’ backslapping, will see more representatives than ever from the companies that pay ad agencies’ fees. Chief marketers from Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Kraft and Coca-Cola, some of the world’s largest advertisers, will all present seminars at the event, in a sign of the shifting balance of power in ad land.
