Almost-Famous Mocha Frappes Recipe : Food Network Kitchens

Hot Chocolate Spoons This is a fun and simple classic treat for just about anyone on your list. You could make a big batch of these and individually wrap them and leave them in the office work room. They are delicious, easy to make and simple for friends to use. All you need are wooden spoons (we used ones from Birchware), a few different chocolates, candies and marshmallows. First you need to melt your chocolate. You can do this on the stove top or microwave. I made chocolate with marshmallows, double chocolate (chocolate dipped with white chocolate drizzled over the top), chocolate mint that was topped with chopped Ande's mints, and chocolate peanut butter (chocolate dipped with melted peanut butter drizzled over the top). xo.

www.stumbleupon.com/su/1Ldm5A/www.doodlersanonymous.com/entry.php?entryID=1678/ Admit it, you've done it. You've taken a Sharpie to a Netflix envelope and doodled the heck out of it. Not just once, but a multitude of times. You've then imagined the expression of the postal worker as the envelope passed through their hands, all with a wide grin on your face. Here are some fun examples of people who publicly admit to doing just that. Above drawn by jovino. Raspberry Lemonade Slushy You asked for it. The most simple, yet refreshing slushy you’ll ever make. (My sister shared this simple recipe with me a few years ago. Here’s to you April…….. I mentioned making a raspberry lemonade slushy after the post sharing the newly organized tutorial buttons and tabs, here. I was tired. I needed a little pick-me-up. And I guess many of you wanted to share that same refreshing treat with me. (Wish you could come over…) I love seeing these two fruits together. The colors are so vibrant and so rich. And it’s crazy how blending such a delicate sweet with such a powerful sour, creates the perfect combination. And ahhhh, you will want to drink glass, after glass, after glass… It’s really the perfect summer treat. Okay, and any-time-of-year treat. Who needs the sun to drink this stuff… Want to blend up a glass for yourself?. Here are the 3 ingredients: Simply Lemonade brand lemonade (real lemon juice, not from concentrate, seriously delicious), frozen unsweetened raspberries, and ice. Ahhhhhhh……..

Green Smoothie Recipe: January Hurricane : Clumps of Mascara The Clumps Facebook fam has requested it and so I bring you another green smoothie recipe. Last year I debuted my love for green smoothies and the obsession has not ended. I wasn’t drinking them as much during the holidays but they are back and with a vengeance. Bwahahaaa!! Hit the jump for a super easy and delicious green smoothie recipe. I call this one January Hurricane. What you’ll need: -1 1/2 cups of organic spinach (or kale) -1/2 cup of almond, coconut, rice, soy or cow’s milk (I used coconut) -About a handful of ice -1 cup of sliced cantaloupe -1/2 cup of blueberries (I used frozen) -2 tablespoons of peanut or almond butter (I used almond) -Medium-size banana -Natural sweeteners and spices (optional but definitely delectable!) Of course you can substitue ANY fruit, veggie and milk with something else that is more fitting. But here’s how I made this one: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Oh! Some fruits are sweeter than others so you may or may not need any extra sweetenin’. And then… Yummers!

Green Smoothie Recipe Yesterday when I shared my 2012 foodie goals with you, the one at the top of my list was getting more fresh fruit and leafy greens into my diet. I promised you a killer green smoothie recipe, and here it is! Given my aversion to vegetables, I had been giving the skeptical side-eye to green smoothies for the better part of a year before I finally caved in and tried one. I love smoothies and I love fruit, and (shockingly) I even like spinach (although it has to be raw, like in a salad – I hate it cooked), but I just never thought I would like it. When I took my first sips, there was definite shock and awe – not only did I not gag, but I actually really, really liked it. Such a bright, fresh flavor and if you do happen to be spinach-averse the good news is that you absolutely cannot taste it at all. Last year my mom and sister each did a pretty intense cleanse and my mom put together a binder of smoothie recipes that were in line with the cleanse guidelines.

Brazilian Lemonade | Our Best Bites - StumbleUpon This is my most favorite drink. Ever. Maybe I’d feel differently if I drank (as in alcohol), but there is nothing I love more than a warm, breezy afternoon and a pitcher of Brazilian lemonade. I didn’t try it for a long, long time because I was very put off by putting sweetened condensed milk in with citrus fruit. It seemed very wrong. It starts off with fresh, juicy limes. You pop them in a blender with some sugar water and pulse just a few times. Pour the mixture from the blender through a strainer and into a pitcher, thus saving all of the flavorful liquid. Then the secret ingredient: sweetened condensed milk. Brazilian LemonadeOur Best Bites Ingredients: 4 juicy limes (try and find ones with thin, smooth skins; they’re the juiciest and the thin skin cuts down on the chance of your drink being bitter) 1 c. sugar 6 c. cold water 6 Tbsp. sweetened condensed milk Instructions: Mix cold water and sugar very well and chill until ready to use. Place 1/2 of the limes in your blender.

Sunrise Smoothies for Breakfast with DHA Omega-3 During the school week, breakfast is a meal that is often rushed and sometimes even overlooked. I have to find ways to provide a nutritious meal without my son missing the bus, even if that means forgoing a sit down meal. Instead of begging my child to chug a glass a milk and scoot out the door, I’ve created a smoothie recipe that packs a lot of flavor and nutrients, including DHA a nutrient that belongs to a category of healthy fatty acids known as Omega-3′s. Why choose DHA enhanced Horizon Organic Milk? While all Omega-3’s are important, research tells us that DHA may offer the greatest number of distinct health benefits. Sources of DHA Horizon Organic® is the only nationally branded organic milk with a plant-based, sustainable source of 100% Vegetarian DHA Omega-3. Sneak DHA in Your Child’s Breakfast with a Sunrise Smoothie Recipe Ingredients: Directions: Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Perfect Iced Coffee Iced coffee is my life. When I wake up, often around the time party animals on the west coast are just heading home, I start each day not with a cup of freshly brewed hot java, but with a tall, blessed glass of creamy iced coffee in a glass. I’ve been an iced coffee freakazoid for years and years. To say I couldn’t live without it is an understatement. Iced coffee is a complicated thing, and there are many different approaches. 1. Given the previous set of facts, one would assume that the logical solution would be to brew hot coffee, then transfer the brew to the fridge, allow it to cool, and use it to make iced coffee from there. There are reasons this method results in a smoother, richer, more delicious concentrate than simply brewing strong coffee and refrigerating it. (Note: I’ve totally adapted/tweaked coffee/water amounts to suit my own tastes. I start with a big ol’ container. Rip open a pound of ground coffee. Pour in the coffee. Mount Bliss. Or, at the very least, my heart. Oh.

Best Mai Tai Recipe from Maui Hawaii | Maui Restaurants Blog It’s easy to get a mai tai on Maui, but it’s nearly impossible to get a good one without spending almost as much as you would on an entree (think Mama’s Fish House, Mai Tai Lounge, Pineapple Grill). Many bars will actually serve you pineapple juice and a little rum and coca cola and call it a mai tai! Ick. The perfect mai tai - all ingredients are well blended and mint is used as a garnish (bruise the leaves to release the oils). The Perfect Mai Tai on Maui? James and I have been searching for a good mai tai recipe for three years, because we want to be able to welcome guests to our home with this most-tropical, most powerful cocktail. (Want to make a party instantly happen? A few months ago we had a mai tai so good that we fell off our chairs (not realizing you are already drunk after half a drink is the sign of a good mai tai). Research and Development It took two weeks of testing to get the recipe right. Molly’s Maui Mai Tai Prepare: Shave enough ice to fill both high ball glasses.

Frozen Hot Chocolate I know hot chocolate is a staple around Christmas, but…I’m just not that big a fan of hot beverages. I feel like liquids should always be refreshing and thirst-quenching, but hot drinks just aren’t like that (incidentally, I also don’t like soup). Every time I drink hot cider or cocoa or tea, my mouth ends up feeling like a gumball that’s been left out in the sun for a couple hours. So, you can imagine my excitement when I discovered frozen versions of popular hot drinks. That’s why, on the 5th day of Christmas here at Just Putzing Around the Kitchen, my kitchen and blender give to you…frozen hot chocolate with minty whipped cream and caramel. Frozen Hot Chocolate (Slightly adapted from Live Love Pasta’s recipe) Steps:(1) In a double boiler set over gently boiling water, combine sugar, hot chocolate mix, and butter. Strawberry-Watermelon Slushie {and Ice Pops!} It wasn’t long ago that I was saying boo to summer weather and trading my oven-free dinners and ice cream posts for fresh baked cinnamon rolls. And while it’s still nice and mild here (hallelujah!) the sun has certainly been shining and I’ve finally been feeling the season. It’s pretty darn simple, and you might already have this stuff around. And juice a lemon Toss both in your blender along with some cubed watermelon and some sugar, and blend blend blend. Pour it into cups and top with an umbrella if you are like me and tiny umbrellas make you happy. Strawberry-Watermelon SlushieRecipe from Taste of Home 2 cups cubed seedless watermelon 1 pint fresh strawberries, halved (I actually used a little less than a pint. In a blender, combine the watermelon, strawberries, sugar and lemon juice; cover and process on high until smooth. Yield: 5-7 cups AND- the best thing? Feeling like a drink now?

Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie I figured since it’s Friday, we’d actually get something to EAT today! (Or drink rather, but you get the idea. It goes in your mouth, not on your head or face And a smoothie sounded rather spa-ish, wouldn’t you agree? Now I’m about to say something that could possibly have me stoned by snooty foodies across the blogoshpehere, I don’t really enjoy drinking pomegranate juice. POM Wonderful Juice: POM Wonderful is well known for its anti-oxidant power. Blueberries: Blueberries are another antioxidant super power. Here’s some great blueberry facts. Oranges: Just one orange provides over 100% of your daily vitamin C needs, helping boost your immune system and fight off nasty things like colds. Strawberries: I mostly included strawberries in this smoothie because they taste yummy, but did you know that 1 cup of strawberries has more vitamin C than an orange? So that’s why this smoothie isn’t just delicious, it’s doing GREAT things for your body! Perfect accompaniment to any breakfast.
