I prefer prejudices One should always be in love. That is the reason one should never marry Life is never fair… An perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not I can believe anything, provided that it is quite incredible Experience is the name everyone gives to his mistakes Humanity takes itself too seriously. Women are meant to be loved, not to be understood I am not young enough to know everything We are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell I can resist anything but temptation Life is much too important a thing ever to talk seriously about it Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them as much A kiss may ruin a human life I am always astonishing myself. It is expressed by the assertion "I myself only exist", in other words, no reality exists other than one's own mind. Self-Reliance Texts : Essays: First Series : SELF-RELIANCE from Essays: First Series (1841) Ralph Waldo Emerson "Ne te quaesiveris extra." "Man is his own star; and the soul that can Render an honest and a perfect man, Commands all light, all influence, all fate; Nothing to him falls early or too late. Cast the bantling on the rocks, Suckle him with the she-wolf's teat; Wintered with the hawk and fox, Power and speed be hands and feet. ESSAY II Self-Reliance I read the other day some verses written by an eminent painter which were original and not conventional. There is a time in every man's education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide; that he must take himself for better, for worse, as his portion; that though the wide universe is full of good, no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till. Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string. But now we are a mob. 1. 2.
Meet the quokka, the happiest animal around Jan 7, 2013 Do you guys know about the quokka? It’s a cat-sized marsupial that lives almost exclusively on the Rottnest Island, a little seven by three mile speck off West Australia. Quokkas look like tiny kangaroos, except a bit rattier and with pleasant facial expressions. Nintendo Characters – Pt. 2 If you’re an avid reader of CF, you know that we believe fashion inspiration goes beyond storefronts, magazines and runways. In the past we’ve found inspiration from Disney characters, books, TV shows and even music. However, until now, we haven’t really covered one of the more recent forms of media entertainment, video games. Whether you’ve played on an N64, a Gameboy Color or a Wii, you’re probably familiar with Nintendo’s series of Mario games, which has over 200 titles. Since I used to adore playing these games, (Heck, I still do!) I thought it would be fun to create some looks inspired by Mario and the gang. In the first post in this series, I created some outfits based on Mario, Yoshi, Princess Peach and Bowser. Luigi This is Mario’s younger brother Luigi. Dress, Jacket, Ring, Tights, Hair Clip, Boots Although Mario and Luigi’s outfits are practically identical, I wanted to go in a completely different direction than I did with last week’s Mario-inspired outfit.
