With the newly developed technology, giant telescopes can reach their theoretical limits of resolution in visible light —something that was just not possible, until now, because of atmospheric turbulence causing blurry visible light images. (Related: The Largest Baby Star, Ever?) “It was very exciting to see this new camera make the night sky look sharper than has ever before been possible,” said Laird Close, the project’s principal scientist at the University of Arizona in a press statement. “As a result, we can see the visible sky more clearly than ever before,” said Close.

Um dos destaques do Festival, a exposição “Extremos,” com curadoria de Milton Guran e Jean-Luc Monterosso no Instituto Moreira Salles, reuniu o maior conjunto de obras expressivas da fotografia contemporânea oriundo da coleção da Maison Européenne de La Photographie, de Paris. Pedro Luis Raota "Al final de la lucha", de Pedro Luis Raota. Pedro Luis Raota (26 de abril de 1934, Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña - 4 de marzo de 1986, Buenos Aires) fue un fotógrafo argentino, catalogado como uno de los máximos exponentes de la fotografía americana y como el fotógrafo argentino que más premios ha recibido.[1] Biografía[editar] Raota nació el 26 de abril de 1934 en Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, Provincia del Chaco, en el seno de una familia de agricultores. Siendo muy joven desechó su proyecto de estudiar abogacía y en la ciudad de Santa Fe adquirió las primeras nociones de fotografía, donde además se ganó la vida haciendo fotos carnet. Luego se mudó a Villaguay en Entre Ríos, donde hizo el servicio militar y aprendió las técnicas de la mano del fotógrafo Quique Fabra. En Villaguay logró sus primeros premios. En 1967, al mismo tiempo que el Festival Cinematográfico de Cannes, se realiza una exposición fotográfica bajo el título Fotografías Insólitas. Referencias[editar]
FestFoto 2013 The world of old photography Helmut Newton was born Helmut Neustädter, in Berlin, Germany in 1920. His early studies were at the American School in Berlin; however by 1936, as his fascination with photography began and his disinterest in school waned, he left school and started an apprenticeship with then renowned photographer Elsie Simon, known as Yva. In 1938, Newton’s parents secured him a passage on a ship to China, fleeing Hitler’s vicious campaign against German Jews. Newton stopped in Singapore where he stayed until 1940; he then moved to Australia. In 1948, Newton married actress June Brunell (Alice Springs), a fellow photographer who later would photograph Newton and work with him on his books. After a nearly fatal heart attack in 1971, and with the encouragement of his wife, he began to photograph overtly sexual images. Newton was highly sought after until the end of his life.
