Kali: Martial Arts of Jason Bourne | finChin No defense. No evasion. No retreat. No moving away. No need. You attack, I counterattack. A brutal new (to us) martial arts that focuses on maximum damage in minimum time: kali. Kali (usually, pekiti-tirsia kali) is the new favorite martial arts among special forces and law enforcement agencies. What’s kali? Later, Spain sent a much larger force to conquer the Philippines. You probably have seen stylized versions of kali in many movies. In every Bourne movie, there’s always a fight up close and personal with a dangerous assassin. If you wish to see more of the approach and thinking behind kali, watch the following US Army Special Forces training video. Loading ... Recommended Posts

Waterproof Fire Starter I have seen many examples of fire starters, but I wanted to try and make one that was made out of only primitive materials. I wanted to make sure that it was small and waterproof. Also, it could be used with any primitive coal producing method of fire making, like the hand drill or bow drill, as well as more modern methods, like steel and flint, Ferrocerium Rods, matches and lighters. Here is what I did . . . . Supplies: 1. Begin by placing the char cloth into the center of the jute tinder nest. Next begin wrapping the tinder with thin strips of birch bark. Carefully dip half of the wrapped bundle into the wax to seal the bark in place. When you are ready to use your fire starter (this was done on a rainy day, on cold wet pavement, in late October, in Northeast Wisconsin), simply cut it in half, pull out the tinder nest from the inside, expose the char cloth and you are ready to go. The threads on the jeans then will very effectively both fix any tiny bends in the blades that inevitably happen and will also sharpen the blades on your shaver cartidge. 2) How to make your teeth whiter Baking soda makes a good teeth whitener. 1.

Complete Guide to Emergency Airplane Landings Image by Martin Hartland We’ve all had the thought cross our mind while flying, “What if the pilot(s) somehow became incapacitated and I had to land this thing? What would I do?” Or maybe more timely for today’s world, “What if a terrorist takes over the plane and I have to save the day by knocking him out with a Chuck Norris-style thump to the head?” You’re a hero, boo-yah! Maintain Aircraft Control (Straight and Level) When you first arrive in the cockpit take the left seat if possible, this is generally where the Captain or Aircraft Commander sits and often has easier access to some of the instruments you’ll need to fly. As soon as you sit down take a deep breath and look outside to see if the aircraft is in a dive (you see more ground in the windscreen than sky), climb, turn, etc. If you are in the clouds and can’t tell the attitude of the aircraft, then it will be necessary to use the attitude indicator, also referred to as the artificial horizon. Make a Radio Call You’ve landed!

Two Targets, One Bullet: How the Ultimate Sniper Rifle Was Made | Danger Room In 2007, when the Navy SEALs went looking for an alternative to the Barrett weapons system it already used — an ultra-high-caliber rifle capable of firing .5-inch cartridges at distances beyond 1,200 meters — it talked to the best weapons manufacturers across the globe. Eventually it contacted a small company with 50 employees, who, it had heard, could make a weapon suitable for its tactical and operational demands. [partner id="wireduk"] It didn’t buy American; it skirted around the excellence of German and Scandinavian weapons design; and, unsurprisingly, it didn’t call the Russians. The Portsmouth company, Accuracy International (AI), equips the British Special Boat Service and Special Air Service with sniper rifles. “The fact that such a small company can be a world-beater in the manufacture of quality weapon systems in a market dominated by huge American and European companies is a huge achievement,” says Color Sergeant Lee Chevenix, a British Army sniping-team instructor.
